Here's a bit of a reminder of how good Evra is with helping out on attack.

evra is indeed lightning down the left. but still not a patch on abidal!

Yep, the only problem with Evra on the left is that he is not defensively as sound as Abidal. With Henry possibly playing that wide free-role on the left - that side needs coverage.

A few surprises.....Mexes, Clerc and Saha.....and Anelka is still there. No Govou.

I for one am pretty impressed, but I'd still like to see Ribery called up soon. Giuly is still absent too.

Yeah, I have created a match thread if you want to discuss the match in there.

Clerc is the big surprise, but no Ribery and the inclusion of Boumsong!

anelka has to stick with the work he's done in blue so far. i never liked mexès and probably never will, but when roma's rolling the way they are (10 straight victories with 7 clean sheets) something must be very right! saha is also, if not red hot, more than lukewarm right now.

clerc is the real surprise, but there are lots of injuries at right back and his present form is amazing.

new to this thread, hope you dont mind the intrusion,

i have 4 category 2 tickets for the last 16 game in Cologne on the 26th June which will feature France IF they win their group.... am willing to swap them for 4 category 2 tickets for the last 16 game in Stuttgart on the 25 June which will feature England IF they win their group!

(wont sell for any price ... swaps for england games also considered but only 4 for 4 and obviously the swaps must be confirmed by FIFA first)

anyone know any french football websites which have a thread going for swapping world cup tickets? i have mailed on the big soccer thread here

email me if you prefer at Filby@t-online.de

Zidane. Greatest ever.

you have to respect his confidence but as far as I can tell Real are still pretty crappy.

happy 2000th ganu!

for those of you who think ribery needs to be on the EdF, you should have seen last night's OM-zenith match. he was pitiful. it's true the whole team was pitiful except barthez and oruma (and maybe taiwo if you're not hard to please), but even before he walked (i'm coming to that) he was useless.

now, his 2 biscottes... the first one seems to confirm saccomano's observation that the car wreck did more damage to his brain than his face. radimov fouled him rather nastily, and was deservedly booked. but either ribery didn't see the card, or i don't know what, but he charged the ref and if lamouchi hadn't held him back he would have walked right then. then a second yellow on a foul that was the epitome of senselessness. bye bye franck, bye bye uefa cup. lamentable!

i love scarface!

but seriously, while he had a pitiful night, there are people who have been called up who have had less than stellar seasons.

This post could be ignorant, but...Has Micoud ever gotten a France callup? I mean, he leads the Champs league in assists and is in the top 5 for goals. You'd think he'd have made some noise for Les Bleus, who could certainly use a playmaker.
