Host Germany succumbs to Italy as a result of two late goals from Grosso and Del Piero.

I really hope France wins, just to set an example to the others, they came from the playing no so good to great, unlike Italy. I think we must Keep Sports Clean! There is part of an article I wrote, tell me if you don't agree:
:( Italy is now in the finals and for sports disappointment, many big mouth Italian fans are being claiming a triumph as if they have really played and earned the finals ticket, with a penalty that came out of nowhere in the last minute during the game against Australia, italy is now claiming victory trying to make the world forget the humiliation experienced during the USA game where with the worse nasty plays, the Oscar winning acting going to the floor with no reason and breaking noses, but worse yet with 9 men in the USA team, italy played the most shameful game in the history of soccer, perhaps the history of sports, in all games they play bad with teams that are unknown to the world cup world, still they barely made it and with Australia only the help of a magic penalty was the saver for a team that has so much corruption problems with its home teams facing going to second and third divisions. Argentina talks way too much, mainly Maradona who has a big mouth still after 20 years he hasn't score a goal, but in any way, they have play great in all the games and were taken out by another strong team, Germany because one had to loose, but Italy is now celebrating a victory has if everything else does not count. What we want, no as soccer fans, but as sports fans, as people, is to stop this type of things to happen to shame the sport and human kind at the lowest level; Don't we have enough with our corrupt governments? With our disorganized and horrible health, education and trade programs? Do we need more corruption and shameful big mouth undeserved claims of victory from Italy tainting the world of sports? I watch sports events to forget about the problems of the world, to enjoy my free time, I just think that if Italy won against Germany, they can celebrate a well played game but not to over do it by opening their mouth in such a manner, I think that after all that happened Italy "MUST" be a little more quiet, modest and grateful to the fans to regain a little bit of respect. Those campaigns against discrimination seems to have very little impact now after the game with many, many italians trying to put themselves apart from the teams ( countries ) that have been taken out of the world cup, comparing to gods, to a sports king, please!!!. Have a little bit of modesty, take a look around a see the world watching that corruption is not welcome in sports, we have enough, play, enjoy it and if you win, please earn it well, 1 win won game does not count when many were trashed, when the home teams are a real shame, keep it quiet, fix your problems at home and just enjoy the world cup, you are not better than anyone, everyone plays, everyone wins and everyone makes mistakes, just try to fix them some time and do not scream to the world that everyone else is bad or is less, is just a game, no need to fix them, no need to buy goals and people. I really hope that sports keeps to be fun, that the fans keep the faith in their teams and that everyone keeps enjoying sports as part of our life. People do something, do not allow twisted things in our sports systems and italy, keep the tone down, you are there because of a magic penalty. KEEP SPORTS CLEAN!!!

I still can't believe Domenech does not put in Trezeguet in, Maybe in the final since Saha got a yellow card he will miss the final but i still think that domenech will put in trezeguet in. This sucks for trezeguet because he is seeing his team win but he doesn't get to play.

Well, the run is over.
We played well in the final, created more chances, and controlled the midfield. Everything was there besides the second ball in the net (buffon takes the credit here). The team did great to get to the final and showed tremendous resolve against spain, brazil, portugal, and now against italy. There's nothing more one can ask for, and when they touch down in France, it'll certainly be as heroes.

I don't want to patronise you, it's just you joined recently. Don't waste your time with those, you'll witness gazillions of tons of such posts here. I know, I'm among those who have a hard time not cursing the authors every time ! ;)

Definately a step backwards, we must, must learn how to cope a.k.a win in a convincing fashion, without these guys. If we cant advance into the european championships in the qual group we are in, with the talent we have, les bleus dont belong in it.

Firstly, talent doesn't encompass only the younger generation. Secondly, qualification is the key as you already pointed out, and if Thuram and Makalele are playing well then they'll help france get on the best start towards that goal. I don't doubt for a minute the abilities of the youngsters, but navigating through qualifiers is a long and difficult process and the skill and experience of the older players will be vital for this team.

I tend to agree with this. But youngsters should also slowly be weened into the team, either as substitutes or as starters in the friendlies.
