Yeah, I saw that. I was hoping it'd be a DVD, but the CDs will be cool.

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as „Euro-English”.

In the first year, „s” will replace the soft „c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard „c” will be dropped in favour of „k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome „ph” will be replaced with „f”. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent „e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing „th” with „z” and „w” with „v”.

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary „o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining „ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

WE have very similar musical tastes. I go way back with DMB. My first show was at the TLA here in Philly around 94. Of course, I haven't seen him live now since he played the Vet. To be honest, I think their new stuff is just total crap. It's horrible. I can't even stomach it.

I love Warehouse, the one part in the song where Stefan plays the bass right before "Shut up I'm thinking, I had a clue now it's gone forever..." gives me chills everytime. That bass line is sick. I've seen DMB, D&T and D&F around 120 times. Including about 15 straight shows in the summer of 98.

I also take personal credit for bringing back #40. Around 1999-ish (I can't be bothered to look on Nancies for the date), my friend and I went to the show in Pittsburgh. DMB had been teasing #40 for awhile and we brought 750 signs with just #40 on it. We handed them out before the encore (we were in the 5th row) to EVERYONE. DMB comes out and everyone is holding it up. Dave kind of chuckles, says something to Carter and played it. It was probably the highlight of my fandom. It's been downhill for DMB and I since then...atleast I have my 100+ boots to scratch the itch when I need it.

nice eddie. I agree but can find some bright spots amongst the dirt of new dmb material. Dream Girl is a good song....Old Dirt Hill...

your #40 story- I went to the VB show, day after the second night of PA (they played #40 both nights in PA). I as well got a #40 and consider that one of my dmb highlights....i just remember going nuts (I was on the lawn) around clueless looking people. If you helped Dave 'remember' that song then I owe you some thanks.
