The ones I know of:
The Bell, Book & Candle on Ludgate Hill is crap. I used to work round the corner, we went there once and never went back.
The Volunteer on Baker Street is a decent pub, they have several continental lagers and do pretty good pub food. I work round the corner from there now and went there a couple of weeks ago for a lunchtime birthday drink.
The Spaniard's Inn is a good pub, low-ceilinged, lots of little snugs and booths to sit in and good food. More of a Sunday afternoon roast dinner place to go. You'll need to get a bus or walk across Hampstead Heath to get there though.
Thanks for the insight Michaec. Just wanted to know if you thought any of the places were nice or would be fun places to go!

The Astros got caught in the infamous, don't start the celebrations until it is all over. I still think the stros can win it. Oswald starts the next game and then the Rocket. It will be hard for the Cards to win both of those. Damn though. I wondered why they didn't walk Pujols. That guys has been on fire. If anyone was going to crush one out of the park, it was him. And man, I think the ball was still rising when it hit the wall!

In other news:
Yesterday, Donald Rumsfeld was giving Pres. Bush his daily briefing and he tells him of all the events effecting national security...then he got to the Iraq war...
-Rumsfeld: Pres. Bush, today 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed.
-Pres. Bush: Oh my God! (holds head in hands and begins to cry, and everybody feels heavy hearted)
-Pres. Bush: Wait! how many is a "brazilian"?

I was watching the game with all Cards fans and they went absolutely crazy. Even I ( a die-hard) Cubs fan gotta give him props. He hit that ball so hard, was anyone able to find the distance, I wasn't.
yeah, anyone know how far that ball went?

And I actually could care less who wins the World Series since the Bravos are not in it, but since you started the whole thing by busting on my Braves, I have to have hatred for the Astros and cheer against them at all costs! :D :p

And I wouldn't have gotten the tomahawk chop if the Braves won? ;) No worries though. We may get to see the final games over in Engerland if the series goes the distance!

if thats the case you might have to go to "The Sports Bar" near picadilly. It's not that great, but they do show American sports. Some people in my group wanted to go there on our last night in London  so we went. They had PTI and Around the Horn on and then a baseball game. I know people who have watched the Super Bowl there.

there is a decent Thai restaurant on Cockspur St between The Sports Cafe and Trafalgar Square on the south side of the street. Kinda pricey, but good food!
