Hello all
not sure where to post this so i thought i would put it here
i am a london gooner and will shortly be in my favourite holiday destination N.Y
any recommendations for a good pub in the city to watch an arsenal game

P.S - yes we are not having the best start to the season but what you gonna do,
perhaps Wegner has spoilt us with all the success he has brought, for what its worth i still beleive that win or lose we play the best football in the premiership period-
and while that is not an excuse for loseing i would rather we played our kind of football than won every game 1-0 and played a long ball kind of game
(and yes i was a fan in the george graham era)
even surrounded by chelsea scum which is enevitable(sp) these days i can always hold my head up and be proud to be a gooner, remember anyone who truely knows football will always give us respect for what we have acheived with a modest budget and a handful of truely great players

thanks in advance for your N.Y boozer recommendations

Very slow on the board tonight. Am I the only one stuck at home on a sat night? *Cue depressing music* Even my kids got invited to a party. My social life has been trumped by my kids' social life...we have reached a new low. :)

Oh well, perhaps it will force me to get caught up on my school ******** before the trip. (Why do I totally not see this happening?)

Hopefully we'll get some good drunk posts here tonight to cheer me up.

I can't see your pic!

BTW, what's a fruit machine? Several pubs in London indicate that they have one. Is it just a vending machine with fresh fruit?

ok after extensive research (and no help from ryan who made me think it was a condom machine), i have established (in case you were curious) that a fruit machine is a slot machine. So, apparently the fresh fruit concept hasn't actually caught on in British pubs afterall. I thought that was pretty weird to be selling fresh fruit in a bar.

LMAO...yep that would definitely be me. Last time I rode a scooter I almost totaled it. Then I got ripped off by a local who tried to get me to pay him to sit there and watch the scooter. I think I'll stick to 4 wheels from now on.

No, I never watch it. I did have a link for this site, though, that showed cartoon video clips that were the same genre as south park. There was one where the computer tech phone guy in India finds out how much the american computer tech phone people make and tries to kill himself. It's hilarious. If anyone is familiar with this site, post a link. I saved it on my laptop, which has since crashed and needs a new motherboard. I must say that is a mother fcuking pain in the arse!

If I came into a pub and found out they were selling fresh fruit I would leave as soon as I had finished my pint.

Yeah I can't imagine eating "fresh" fruit from a pub.

here's the link for that cartoon site. The one I was referring to is called "tech support" towards the bottom right of the screen...not "tech support II" which is at the top and is pretty dumb. There are some other ones on there too that are hilarious.

I'm sitting in Departures at Heathrow waiting for my flight to Milan. Going to pick up some tickets tomorrow for Wednesday's Inter v. Roma match. I've been travelling non stop since i got here and i'm starting to wear down a bit. Anyway, yesterdays game was fun, three more points in the bag.

Nice. Are you assured of getting tickets or will you check all that out when you get there?
