cept its 3 quid for a pint... and some pubs in london, you are looking at 3.50 pints.. so round $7.00~
Hence the 'fill lines' so that you know you are getting your money's worth!

Remind me how much a quid is........in dollars?
The horrible price of about $1.8 per quid/pound.

I have really resisted telling that to Sean too! He is kind of thrifty and I think that if he thinks to much about how much everything costs, I won't have a good time! ;)

ya, its say 1.8.. but that is if you are selling a pound for a dollar..
i got mine usually at 2.2~ at any rate.. just think double the cost of the dollar. course, if you lot make it to the midlands, it gets cheaper.. london is just absurd, imo.

The deal is that the number value for most things over there are the same as they are here. Like 3.00 for a pint, 10.00 for a meal, 42.00 for an Arsenal ticket, etc. But the conversion to dollars almost doubles it. :( Do all the money exchanging and don't tell Sean! Or put it on credit and pay it off over the next few years. That's the American way! :D

We are getting out of London after the weekend and heading to our friend's house in High Wycombe. Then we plan on getting around, so hopefully the costs will go down some.

when i was in italy and they were still on the Lira i brought a small solar powered calculator that fit in my pocket. that way I could divide everything by 1600 (avg value of $1) and figure out the price quickly

kinda like chicago.
last time in london a pub near my hotel had pints of Carlsberg and Tetley's for 1.50 quid. cheap way to get drunk before hitting other places.
There are some pretty cheap pub chains like Wetherspoons that have cheap pints for as low as £1.39 (about $2.45).. That's for imperial pints of both Real Ales (cask, mmm) and tap beers. For a 20oz imperial pint that's cheaper than I could get anywhere in seattle...
Everyone should definitely do themselves a favor and have a few cask-conditioned ales while they're there.

I would have stuck with them. I think Tech at the very least is going to give Texas fits. Besides, if they pull the upset (and I do think they've got a great shot at one), you'll be kicking yourself.
