What's the bet on Gretna being top scorers of the competition with Preston and Cove Rangers in the first and second round? Couldn't get much easier for them.

I wish I had Setanta so I could watch the SPL and Scottish Cup. I guess I will just have to keep pestering my cable company until they pick it up or maybe get a dish.

Prestonpans, as SM says, is just east of Edinburgh.

Thistle drew 1-1 with Rovers, so there's a replay at Cliftonhill soon. Good result for the Coatbridge boys, especially since they were down to ten men for the last half hour.

Gretna racked up an easy 6-2 win at the Pennypit, with Preston's two goals being late consolations.

Most of the postponed ties are due to take place on Saturday.

Just east of Edinburgh.

Thanks, found out when reading today's papers that Preston is actually Prestonpans. I thought those muppets from England had hi-jacked our cup.

Tonight's scores:

Alloa 9 - 0 Selkirk  (Alloa have lost 4-0, 3-0, 4-2, 3-1, 4-1, 3-1, 6-1, 3-0 and 5-2 in their last 11 games, I wonder what Gretna would've done to Selkirk?!)

Stenhousemuir 3 - 2 East Stirling - Stenny win despite having 2 players sent off in the first half.

I couldn't believe the scoreline myself until i checked a couple of sites to see if there wasn't some trigger finger happy kid at the board. If any can post highlights of it i will toss some rep your way.

WTF do you expect? Selkirk are a terrible team who play in East of Scotland Division 1. There are around 4 good teams in the East of Scotland *Premier*. Division 1 is awful, truly awful in quality - and Selkirk are 5th in it.

Still, we only managed to beat Vale of Leithen 4-0 when they were bottom of the East of Scotland Premier and we were flying high in the second. Selkirk are obviously of a very amateur quality but you'd expect them to hold a very poor Alloa side to about 4 or 5.

I agree the quality is horrendous though, junior teams would do much better in the Scottish cup. It's about time the big junior clubs got rid of their 'junior' status and joined the football league in a pyramid system and got in on the Scottish cup action. If they don't want to change status it's their choice but many junior sides would be very good additions to the SFL. locally to me a team like Kilwinning Rangers or Irvine Meadow would have much better supports in the second or third division than East Stirling, Cowdenbeath etc. It's about time things were freshened up.
