It took me a strong YA before I got any meaningful pulls.

Well, I know why I lost my league match...
I moved my batting order a bit, but forgot to reestablish my all-rounder as a bowler... so..
I had a crap bowler who gave up 80 runs... :\
Geez...
I don't think I'll make that mistake again anytime soon...

I gave up 175 runs today and took all 10 wickets in 46 overs. So far I'm scoring at a 7.15 run rate; 93 for 1 through 13 overs.

I think I'm going to lose my cup match today in another close one...
Ruotula Redheads v Atlanta Mosquitos (171829)
End of Over 43: 177-4, runrate=4.12, reqrunrate=3.43 (200-9)

Then again, maybe I will win...
End of Over 45: 191-4, runrate=4.24, reqrunrate=2.00 (200-9)

I did pull it off...
And that's the end of the match. Atlanta Mosquitos won by 5 wickets.
Ruotula Redheads 200-9
Atlanta Mosquitos 201-5

won my cup match by 50 runs. Played it TIE, and was playing a brand new team. They had a guy put up a 93, not bad. Fitness level back to normal!

My players are still screwed up from the consistency/concentration glitch :(

Fixed, finally.
Yesterday, while on the Battrick Fed on Hattrick, Allan (THE Allan) asked for volunteers to experiment his bug fixing skills on. I stepped up. My team felt the "Hand of Allan" and all was fixed. This morning the stats for concen/consist were reversed again. Within the last hour they are back to normal.
But I am not sure my team will ever recover from being touched by God, the creator. ;)

I now have a superb bowler. My 25 year old popped after being trained for most of last season. Consistancy is still woeful though so I'm going to continue training him until that pops before I either sell the player or simply stop training him.

You might try giving him some fielding training as that will speed up his chances of his consistency improving.

Got my next cup draw. This one is against an active player, but his bowlers are horrific. He replaced a couple of guys running a 7 to 8 economy rate last season with two that are in terrible form with BT ratings under 3000 -- for comparison, my respectable bowler with competent consistency and no other skills to speak of is around 4500 in respectable form -- so I don't think it will be much of an improvement. He's gotten a couple of nice run totals but a lot more of all out for ~150, so I'm thinking this is more likely to be a rout than a close match. The uneven pitch should favor my seam-heavy lineup (although I don't know what distinguishes the three -- uneven might be more tilted to fast bowlers, for example, and my seamers are F, FM, and 2xM).

I drew a team from my series in the cup, which is nice, since we're easily the better squad.

thats good. I've got a guy from IV.61. he's got a newer team, only 3 games in, so I'm hoping for the win!

My Cup opponent for next round doesn't look like he'll be too difficult to defeat.. he's a mixed bag of results but I don't think his batting is going to be good enough to post a total my guys can't get.
Other news... bug fixed I was finally able to make my yp for the week and it was well worth the wait.

we're looking at a serious contender for 4-5 coaches by the end of the season... gonna give him a fielding coach and probably 2 each of batting/bowling.

I have a tough cup opponent, I was hoping to take it easy, but I doubt I can do that and win.
I have a tough league match tomorrow too, so I think it's a case of playing two normals and hope the ball spins my way. Hmmmm....

I'll be TIE against a human team that's only been around for a couple weeks. It worked out fine last week.
