Has anyone seen this yet? Any good? The reviews I've seen seem to be a little mixed, but it opens today in Dallas and I might check it out....

Actually its pulling in fuly 96% positive reviews over at Rotten Tomatoes. Looks like it could be an Oscar sleeper at this rate. Hopefully I can check it out this weekend.

Clooney's first movie, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, was all style and no substance. I hated the 30 minutes of it I watched with a passion.

I LOVED Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. I wanted to watch it again immediately after I got done watching it the first time, and it's very very rare I leave a theater wanting that.

I saw Good Night on Monday and really liked it. It goes by very quick. Many of the negative reviews have come from those who lean to the right...there is an obvious attempt in this movie to make connection between what was going on then and what was going on now. That said this isn't a Michael Moore, beat you over the head sort of thing. On one level it tells a compelling story, on another it makes a point about our curren situation.

I disagree, but I can completely understand that.

After all, it's based on the lunatic delustions of a schlock TV maven. Plus The Gong Show was one of my cultural talismans as a child (Gene Gene The Dancing Machine ranking right behind Fred Astaire in my pantheon of hoofers).
