Trinidad & Tobago just made my year. Last night was an insanely good time. I sat on the edge of my couch watching the T&T-Mexico match, wishing I had some bongos and a big Afro. Screw the US-Panama game. That game meant nothing. But for some reason, the T&T-Mexico game meant everything.

"Screw the US-Panama game."?
Phuk Greg Lalas.
I'm all for T&T qualifying, but don't run your own country down.

agreed
I don't think there's anything wrong with being of the opinion that there was more intrigue in the T&T-Mex match than the US-Panama match.

As a US fan, I sure had the Mex-T&T game on last night.

I watched both!
With an old fashioned remote and my wife in the other room (she hates channel changing). I saw all the goals in both games, but the first Mexico goal. The picture was worse, the language only rarely understandable, but the excitement and tension was definitely in the TnT-Mexico game.

Gotta love direct tv. I was able to watch both matches live. The T&T match was more interesting because they were playing in front of a home ground and actually had something to play for. The US was just auditioning some unknowns and Panama was gearing up for 2010. I'm very happy that T&T won the playoff spot. I think they'll represent concacaf better than Guatemala.

Any decent writer would have worded it differently. Sarcasm, my ass! Some people might be offended by the bongos and Afro reference. I was offended by his next comment. Two-bit writers deserve to get slagged.

Gimme a break  , the US-Panama game was one of the most meaningless, boring games I have ever watched. Both teams fielded scrubs, the games was weak, the atmosphere sucked. If I had Mexican TV, I would have watched that game instead too.

he's a footballer and a surfer... if you consider him a decent writer based on that its obvious you'll be offended. And its not the first time that an American may something ignorant about my country, I'm abit immune to it...at least he knows that it isn't "part of jamaica"...

Thanks for the kind comments about TandT
I don't think we saw the same match. John was offside when he scored, but he was onside when the shot that came off the bar was hit. According to the laws of the came, that's a valid goal
Secondly, Corona deserves no real credit for that save, John's body language was so obvious that people in bahrain could have picked up which way he was going to hit it, not to mention that it was a badly hit penalty.
Considering that one of our shots was deflected of the line and onto the post by a defender, the match also "should" have finished 4-1. ;)

Mexico has one decent goalkeeper. They do not have, nor have they ever had a "great" goalkeeper.

I guess they should have cancelled it because of the rain, too.
We should be thankful that the US has meaningless games at the end of qualifying rounds; it means we advanced early. I did not find the game boring or the atmosphere sucky. It's great that Bruce can try to fit new players in during a legitimate game. Sam's Army was miked & I could hear them all game. I would have preferred to be there, but was glad that it was televised. Though Panama faded in the Hex, I saw them play US in the preliminary round and the Gold Cup & was impressed by their play & their fans. I have no problem with anyone watching T&T-Mexico; that's their choice. If I had the option, I probably would have also watched both games simultaneously. I do have a problem with people denigrating the USMNT & their games.
P.S. to T&T fans: sorry that this discussion is occurring on your board.
Go T&T! Beat Bahrain! There, now I feel better.
