I didn't check the article, but I assume you're talking about him doing hockey games on NESN. But there won't be many sightings of him, because nobody watches the NHL on TV.

OLN's TV coverage of the NHL is terrible. Let that be a warning to those who wish MLS depart ESPN2.

Wait till he does the Canada Cup (a.k.a. World Cup Of Hockey).

Showing multiple games per week, and now they're showing multiple games per day, even if they are getting some of the feeds from CBC is good. And they even have a studio show, something which ESPN killed during their last year (NHL2Night.)
The fact that it's not ESPN/ESPN2 is surely killing their ratings. Everyone's heard of those channels, but how many have heard of (or even have) OLN?
But my theory is that the stereotypical NHL fan will watch their games on the local RSN, but will hardly venture to OLN/NBC to watch a game not involving their team.

All NBC games are exclusive, select first and second round playoff games on OLN are exclusive and all regular season games were exclusive so you'll have to tune in to one of the above to watch you team when they carry a game in most cases. ESPN had quite a few exclusive games as well during the last two years they carried games and had the ability to do regional games which OLN cannot do. I don't think the studio show is anything more than ESPN would have offered for the playoffs, they are actually running one game into another meaning you miss the start of the second game, ESPN had two channels so this was never an issue for them, I think ESPN would have offered more playoff games on two channels, and you still have to factor in the fact that the NHL lost 30+ million homes in the move. Even if the coverage was better, it matters very little if few can see it. OLN cuts out a nice chunk of hockey fans and the NHL is letting Comcast use NHL coverage to put the screws to cablevison as well which cuts NYC market Cablevision customers out of exclusive games featuring the Rangers, Isles, or Devils.

The Canada Cup is no more and I'd be surprised if we see another WCoH anytime soon. The NHL owners want the WC and not the Olympics but the players want the opposite. I don't see this getting resolved.

Jack Edwards is a lot better than Rob Stone or Dave O'Brien.
