"Word on the Street" is that Barcelona are trying to put Henrik Larsson out on loan. With Thierry Henry out of action for a while, and a proven goalscorer currently lacking, who would think that trying to get a proven goal scoring machine to Highbury a good idea? He is used to linking up with Freddie for Sweden, and would take some pressure of the youngsters who are still struggling up front to find the net reguarly. With (hopefully) the next phase of the Champions League now assured, I think that it wouldn't be a bad idea, (wages to be considered obviously). With AW continually going for young players, and again today being linked with a German U.21 player, I think we are in need of a ready made article. Larsson, to me, would not be a bad one to start with. Other thoughts please?

I would love to see Larsson play for Arsenal.

He hasnt played much for Barca from what I've seen.

Well [knocks on wood] Henry is supposed to be back by the end of the month. It seems to me that at that point, things would get rather crowded if had Larsson as well. In such a situation, I would rather about van Persie's development being stifled....as I think he is on the verge of being a very good player for us.

You make a good point Yos. Although we are struggling with injuries right now, Larrson would just make things more crowded eventually, and when it comes down to it, I'd rather the younger guys get experience.

Get him! He still can score, crowd favorite, excellent leader, and him and Freddie could hook up a lot like they do for Sweden.

This was a good idea and I was all for it for about a half second. Ol'Henrick is cup tied for the Champions League as he came on as a sub late in the recent 4-1 win over Udinese.

The league is gonna take a dip in form from Chelsea, not us getting better to catch up, let the kids get some experience.

Didn't he miss all of last season with an injury? I'd take him if he's fit, he'd make a great "plan b."

You have to keep in mind that Arsene is against all "Plan B's." :)

Having Larsson wouldn't be bad, but bringing someone in for a short period of time really won't solve the long term problem. I'd like to see us pick someone up in January that will come in and make an impact. RvP and done a good job as well as JAR. The thing is both have a lot of potential and are getting better every season. DB10 is great, but he hasn't been playing his best. Just one more strong striker would be great.

I'd still rather see a strong central defensive mid before anything else, but someone up front would be great.

You made a good point, while it would be nice to have some more reinforcments up front, there are more pressing needs in the squad.

Yeah, but if we're talking about a loan, it's hardly "either- or."
