that's all that's planned for now, but these things don't take a year to put together. my guess is that there will be probably 2 more.

Ok, but reading this (Domenech's interview):

What does he mean with this part:
"On a le droit de faire deux matches amicaux"

According to who? The FFF? Self-imposed rule?
Is he speaking figuratively in a ...err...non-figurative
way? :D
Anything I should know?

Anything I should know?I've read in the press that Juventus were rather pissed off by Thuram playing the WC qualifiers because he went back to his club burnt and injured. According to the rumours I've heard, the club doesn't want him to play for the national team untill the end of the season.

By the way, how weird is it that that same club, Juve, is the one from Pavel Nedved, who doesn't want to play anymore with the Czech national team.

That's exactly what I hate in the current evolution of football. Obviously clubs are getting so powerful that they can dare asking to national Federations to not take one of their player. Fortunately the World Cup has grown such a reputation that the greatest players still want to play it, but if it's continuing like that, we will see only players from 2nd divisions playing it. We need some dude in FIFA or UEFA with a bit of authority to make understand to the clubs that they aren't the boss... but the problem is that there's so much money now in those clubs that they are, in a large part, already the boss. :(

Stade de France..... I'm jealous of you Parisian batards, always getting the great hookups. I'm sad to say that the Slovakians may be the tougher test of the two friendlies. :(

the Germany matchup will be exciting. Just the history and rivalry between the 2 teams is going to create some sparks and both teams are going to want to win it.

Yeah, I'm aware of this , I mean Juve with their
Trez + Thuram + Vieira "situation", important
players to them.
But just like you write, there needs to be some
"higher authority", say, FIFA, ruling on this. We
can't have a club dictate how the national team's
preparation will take place.
And yes, tough problem because players have to
think about making a living too...meaning, their
earnings from clubs.
I dunno how this can be handled...

the Germany matchup will be exciting. Just the history and rivalry between the 2 teams is going to create some sparks and both teams are going to want to win it.I remember that before last friendly between France and Germany there had been some kind of show about France and Germany friendship. :D

Obviously there are people who wants to calm down that rivalry... but it's obvious that after a game such as the WC semi-final in 1982, you'll never totally prevent French supporters to be bitter towards the Nationalmannshaft.

This being said, Germany has only rivals in Europe... The Netherlands made of it a personnal affair, the English dudes too, the Hungarians (who aren't really top class today) have never forgiven the 1954 loss in final. Well, the least we can say is that Germany isn't really popular in European football ! :D

Anyway, personally I don't have anymore issues with the Germans. It's true that having been with a German girl made a lot to reconcile me with that country (I hated my German teacher in high school). Today, I truely believe Germany, especially Berlin, is a terrific place. :)

Oh I like Germany, serious.
Now....I'm sure they'd love to beat us because
they haven't done so since...WC 1986, semi-final.
We've played 5 times since, friendlies, and beaten
them every time. Which is kinda cool, of course :D

im not the germans biggest fan. i think they are an ageing average team and it would surprise me if they did much next year. they are the most serious fans in the world. when we played them in japan 2002 i was beside this german who bearly cheered when they scored. picture a millitary like german sitting beside a semi drunk irishman. when keane got the last minute goal the stadium just errupted and i wanted him to dance with us. he wasnt in the mood for a merry jig :D

Well, we crushed them 3-0 in Germany last time around, I bet they'll be pretty motivated for this game !

Evidently you are ignorant. We may have the youngest team in the World Cup in 2006. (i.e. look at Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Mertesacker, Huth, Lahm, Kuranyi, Sinkiewicz, Hildebrand)

Just as I suspected, Nedved is back to help his natl. team to the WC. He said that he'd be happy to only play these 2 games to help his team to the WC, but I know he'll go on to play in Deutschland.
