What a stupid comment you've just made.

Yeah, it's becoming the new cliché now, all players in the French NT have been abducted in Africa and trained in special football camps near Mururoa atoll in french Polynesia, being exposed to nuclear radiations to enhance their potential by DNA mutation...

After such a treatment, they still have to undergo an ideological training in order to get the all important French passport, as it is well known around the world, you have to be able to cope with toilets à la turque, be attracted by hairy armpits and be able to judge personalities according the type of cheese they're purchasing in order to obtain the precious document. The training also contains behaviour courses like arrogant and pompous poseurs attitude so that you can blend within the population more easily. That and killing babies just for fun, just as pretty much everybody does here...

It doesn't have any link with France - Cyprus.... but Trinidad & Tobago has just beaten Mexico at home.

T&T is 4th of the Concacaf group.

There will be a qualified between Bahrain and T&T.

Conmebol games aren't over yet, but Uruguay is leading against Argentina. There are strong chances the other intercontinental playoff will be once again Australia vs Uruguay (unless Argentina scores and then it would be Colombia).

From what we saw, it was a problem in the pelvian area. Some reports I've read told about him being replaced for bad performance, strange...

This was by no means the hardest group.... If they were placed in the Dutch, Czech Republic, Romania group they would have suffered even worst. They got to play a struggling France, a rebuilding Ireland, and a Switzerland that is entrepreuning, but by no means a power.
I'm sorry your frustrated, but qualifying for the world cup is HARD. It should not be taken for granted. Maybe qualifying for the Euro is a more realistic goal.
You guys did better than most thought you would. You should be proud. Rome wasn't built in a day you know......

you talk like you know alot my friend, rebuilding ireland??????? thats sounds funny, considering there best players are in there prime duff and keane, france aren't struggling there just not good, and switzerland who are playing excellant recently

france won't even get passed the first round in the world cup just like last time. french football is getting worse and worsenow that's pathetic. first you say 2-0 for cyprus, now it's something else. if france wins in germany you'll say they'll stink in 2010!

and i'd like to know how many french players were actually born in france??and how many "israelis" were born in israel? this tired old saw has been discussed here time and again by (much) more intelligent and open-minded than you; martinique is as french as hawaii is american. (and much more french than the ha-golan is israeli). being born in africa doesn't mean you can't be french. (please note also that freddie kanouté who plays for mali and habib beye who plays for senegal were both born... in france!) listen to zidane talk about france, look at him kiss his jersey and then tell me he's not french. but don't try telling him that!

israel deserved to be in the world cup just as much as france and israel played much better than france in tel-avivyeah, that's a crisp one. the match in ramat-gan was a mockery, israel played the worst kind of assassin's football.

big football is a great place to talk football, but please stay out of the france forum, where we try to be pertinent and gentlemanly. you'll find your cup of tea in world rivalries, i think!

HA HA Those Israelis crack me up :D Seriously though they arent the best loosers. Israel were extremly lucky in this campaign ,when they played in dublin i saw the worst display of a referee in my life he sent off andy o brien when the isreali keeper punched him in the face. Sure we are disappointed but when the game is over you shake hands with the rest and leave it at that. Well done France and good luck in the World Cup also good luck to the Swiss in the playoffs. Grow up Israel

f***** stupid comments. We actually may not pass the first round as we did last time, but the French's playing is getting better regarding all the mishaps and hitches the team has been through.

1. They do know they have to prove challengers to the football world and they know they can be losers again in the first round. During 2002 FWC, they underachieve because of too much confidence and lack of real motivation. IN 2004 Euro, the team was getting too old and had lost confidence. Since then, it has been difficult to set up a competitive team. Especialy because key players (except Zidane, thanks god!) have suffered long term or short term injuries or resigned (but fortunately came back!!!) : Viera, Trezeguet, Sagnol, Henry, Thuram. It has then be very difficult to build up a team. At the beginning the young players couldn't even compare with average players and ZZ came back (some say is not as goog as he used to be, In fact he is not as fit: last night he mostly played with his left foot because he still suffers from a groin injury, and yet, he still outplayed three or four Cypruss players at a time when needed!!! lol).

Now from what i have seen when their confidence is back, they have fast, acute, precise passing, excellent individual skilled players and gradually things are getting right: The defence is more confident, Wiltord and Cisse play like twin brother who know each other perfectly, Makele is excellent in his role as a striker wiper, Dorhasoo is beginning to understand what he can do for the team and henry and trezeguet, when fit, can mess any defense. Not to mention Zidane's technical skill and Sagnol's incredible passing. If the team becomes aware of their true potential, if they can keep some fitness and have confidence back, they may go up to the Quarter finals or even semi. But saying they are a bad team is just overlooking their incredible potential that sometimes comes trues on the pitch. Had they played their true potential against Israel, It would have been quite different.

Now, as regards to your comment on the nationality of our players: we are proud to have a multicural team because this is one of the feature of france. As a former colonial country, it is natural that so many people with so many origins live in the same country, and in this respect, they do represent perfectly the french society, whether you like it or not!!! (so think twice before talking sh****.) And I am proud of them, as most of us are!!!!

and What about Brazil, the USA, England????

The class and sportsmanship of the Irish is Worldclass. You guys are really credits to your island. It will be sad to not see you in Germany, such great fans, such boisteros non-violent support, a never say die attitude.

Fortunately, they will be there for 2007 rugby world cup. We will welcome them like the proud knights they really are.

Ouai Vive l'Ireland!!! Ils méritaient d'aller en Allemagne avec leur "great fans" et le super Roy Keane.

Good Luck pour l'Euro 2008.
