So, what MLS (or even non-MLS) players from Wisconsin would make an impact on the potential Milwaukee team? I've compiled a bit of a list, but I don't know everybody, so I'm sorry if I missed some.

I think Jesse Marsch may be into his coaching career in 2008, but I'll still vote for him. :)

Maybe a couple polls:

Name for the team could be one. Preferred head coach (based on 2008 start) could be another. Wisconsin players for MPS? Projected expansion draft players!?!? i dunno, just trying to add some life to these boards.

I voted for the Dombrowskis since it appears that family isn't done producing players. And if you have McBride on there because of his Rampage days you could add Tony Sanneh too.

Jay DeMerritt(sp) plays for Watford in England and is from Green Bay.

From what I've seen, Tony Sanneh "retired" from playing professional soccer some time this year. But yeah, I almost put both of them down.

Any Wave players worth looking at? Greg Howes maybe? He'll be old by then, though...

Ah yes -- the pride of Bayport HS. I was thinking him or Charles Kazlauskas -- isn't he from the Milwaukee area? Both of them should be in their prime in a few years. Heck -- wasn't Kazlauskas going to train with the Fire at some point this year? Whatever happened with that?

The older guys on the list will probably be retired or not worth much. And who knows how the younger guys will work out over the next few years.

With that said, Tim Ward has to be the best option because he is young and has Youth National team experiance. Therefore he is most likely to be the best prospect in 2008.

Wow Epikoinos, that sure is a handy list. What a great resource. They must have a crack staff of dozens over at MadisonSoccerCentral.

Yes, Charlie went to HS at Milwaukee Thomas More. After last season he left NEC Nimijen (SP?) of Holland and had a trial with the fire. Dont think he was signed and not quite sure what went on there (Peter prbly knows).

Going back to the initial comment about Jesse, I actually heard a pretty legit rumor that if this goes thru that he would be top inline for the coaching job. Of course this is quite early to be discussing it, but I would not be suprised at all if that were to happen.

Strange, I heard a "pretty legit rumour" the other way around (that he wouldn't be experienced enough to consider). I think he'll make a great coach, but I would think he'd be an assistant at that point.

Greg Howes is another name, he has strong ties with Milwaukee soccer scene.

Trent Furtsch a graduate of UWM, he's a strong left back.

Maybe they can get Antou Jallow back from Sweden.

I don't remember why I didn't put Howes in the poll. He will be among the "older" crowd, though.
