Eto'o
4 goals in the first half today, and to think Barcelona wanted too offload him, how foolish.

They have repented of their sins :)

Eto'o
He really blew my mind in that first half. Just aces. Looks like, unless Valencia rebuild some momentum, Eto'o is the premier striker of La Liga.

Would you still take Aguero over Eto'o? :p

I was guilty of saying I'd take Aguero over Eto'o, but he is definatley making me re-think it. :o

When I saw you had bumped the thread earlier I could have sworn you were going to post about Higuain.

I posted this in another thread but...
Eto'o talking to Higuain: "Anything you can do, I can do better". :D

Kind of. He is 20 and immensley talented. Atletico are a good team but not world beater, Aguero would look better with improved service, i.e playing for a bigger team.

Anelka
No. After a bright start to his career, we eventually found out that Bolton and Man City is his level. Don't let a few goals in a few thrashings fool you, he is very average. His name is out of place from the great players that you mentioned.

Atletico depend on him so much it's not even funny. Last season despite them spending all that money to re enforce themselves it was Kun that always stood out and carried the team for large periods of time. His personal demolishing of Barcelona at the Calderon last season was probably the best individual performance the entire year in La Liga.

i think they mainly wanted to offload him for off the field problems. Not to take anything from him as he is one of the best right now, but it's hard not to look good with services from messi, xavi, iniesta.

Del Piero would be at this time.

2 goals in Italy, 4 in Europe (6 all together). No offense, but that's not best 'striker' in the world material.

Hes scored against some of the best teams in the world. And its 5 in Europe.

Malaga scored 3 against Real Madrid today (at the Bernabeu). They are tied for the most goals conceded in the top 6 in Spain. Their defense is a joke.
And its 5 in Europe.
I don't count anything before the actual CL group-stage :)

Still lots of players being mentioned that are not strikers.
Don't be annoying. It is perfectly fine to put names such as Del Piero, Ibra and Rooney into the best strikers list. As long as they are clearly not attacking midfielders (Kaka) or wingers (Messi) then we can call them strikers. Some people call players like Del Piero second strikers, showing that they are in fact, a type of striker.

Anelka. Hmm. Just scored his second goal of the day. Although he doesn't contribute anything else besids finishing, I will hold my hands up and say that maybe he is worthy of slight consideration, but only if he continues this great goalscoring form.

Anelka is one of footballs pure goalscorers. Like Teddy Sheringham and the likes. He can just do it wherever he goes, and it seems as though under Scolari he is finding his feet again.
His first goal today was a cracker though.

Anelka is not in that top class. Zlatan and Adebayor should be rated higher
