to me, right now, the best 5 strikers in the world, based on the season so far, would have to be (in no order)

Aguero
Torres
Villa
Anelka
Messi

but there are many good midfielders that i would put in there cuz they score goals like

Ronaldo
Gerrard
etc...

care to argue?

I'm going to exlude players who score a lot of goals but don't actually play upfront (i.e. Messi/Ronaldo) and I am also going to base my choice purely on how these strikers have done for their respective clubs (one rarely scores at international level), I would say the following are the best 5 strikers in the world at the moment (I have excluded Torres because he is not playing right now):

Benzema
Aguero
RVN
Villa
Ibrahamovic

It's ridiculous to include Aguero in your top 5 and yet not have Eto'o in it.

Anelka is too inconsistent, and i would definitely put ibra above him.

I would put *gasp* Gilardino ahead of Anelka as well.

Not to forget Di Natale, Rooney, Benzema and Klose. Van Persie has been immense for Arsenal so far this season as well.

Adebayor has 2 more goals than Van Persie does for Arsenal this season in all competitions so I would include him as well, or over Van Persie.
