He's not a 'real' striker though...more of a second/supporting striker.
So is Davild Villa, as well as Rooney, Podolski, Ibrahimovic, Tevez, Benzema and Agüero.

Most people would say Luís Fabiano at this point.
Amauri is also doing quite well ATM.

I think of him as a centre forward that supports the main striker upfront, not a midfield.

Isn't a center forward the main striker?

A lot of people call them different things. Some people go with the Football Manager terms. Which has AM then CF in front of him then ST in front of him.

Thanks for clearing that up then. "Center forward" and "striker" sound like the same thing.

I use the term Centre Forward as the supporting forward, I use the term striker as the main forward. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Correct. I was thinking of Brazilian strikers who played for Brazil which I why I forget to mention him. Bit strange that considering he is in my CL squad. :o

Miroslav Klose has had a stunning renaissance since undergoing the worst form of his career during the second half of the season last year. He's been a real leader by example for Germany since the Euros and I'd say no one in the Bayern squad deserves more credit for the rejuvenation of the title campaign.
Of course, I say this now because he was particularly great against Frankfurt today, and I might just change my mind again next week.

he was only el nino at athletico madrid bud. no one calls him that in england frankly because i dont think they no what that means. :D
and kevin doyle???? WTF! Hes playing for reading dude. if he went to a better club and performed there then i might see a valid arguement but until then hes a no body. he scores goals, dont get me wrong, but so does peter crouch, but you dont see me trying to say hes the best striker in the world.

I'm going to exlude players who score a lot of goals but don't actually play upfront (i.e. Messi/Ronaldo) and I am also going to base my choice purely on how these strikers have done for their respective clubs (one rarely scores at international level), I would say the following are the best 5 strikers in the world at the moment (I have excluded Torres because he is not playing right now):
Benzema
Aguero
RVN
Villa
Ibrahamovic
Joelzinho
