BTW, Arshavin isn't really a striker. He's more of an attacking midfielder (similar to Messi and Kaka).

messi is not a striker, he is an attacking midfielder. Get it right and watch the games not highlights.

It's unbelievable that people don't even know what a striker is. And these are the kids that's going to run the world one day. Very depressing indeed.

I think it just stems from a misunderstanding in European football, Wingers are considered midfielders here in England and in some countries in Europe like Holland (cue Johan Neeskens finding this thread) They're considered attackers/strikers. So where we'd consider the formation 4-5-1 they see it as 4-3-3.

Regardless a striker is not messi. He is a right wing, if u want. I think alot of people comment out of video games, i remember in last years fifa they had the midfielders as green and forwards as red, and they had messi red, so ignorant people say he is a striker.
He is an attacking player, but not a striker.
Even though he is our best goal scorer(because we cant seem to put the ball in any other way), that is not his job, unlike a striker whos job is to find whichever way to score, like van nistelrooy or villa or torres. Its different. Striker is not the same as attacking mid, or left wide or wing, whichever u wish to call it.

i know i just get annoyed when people (i.e. tadm123) who dont seem to watch footy, they just watch highlights or have played a videogame and think they know.
