As for best striker in the world right now I'd probably pick Villa.
I would probably have to agree :)

ruud is a bonafide goal scorer
but would u pick him over the likes of villa who offer more in the way of assists as well as goals?

The fundamental role of a striker is to score goals and Ruud is, in my opinion, the best finisher in the world. Villa and others might offer more overall but they contribute less goals as a direct result. It depends entirely on what you want in your team.

Ruud actually gave more assists than Villa in La Liga last season, so either way is good.;)

I haven't been on here for a long time, and i'm really suprised at how many people posted. I personally think David Villa is the best in the world at the moment. He scores so many goals for Valencia and I dont think they would even finish in the top 8 without his goals. I'm a Real fan but I wish we had signed Villa this summer. We really do need to get rid of Saviola and find a replacement, not saying he's a bad player but I think Real was a wrong move or a move too far. Second to Villa I think we should sign Podolski. He doesn't seem all that happy at Bayern, with Klose and Toni the main strike force. Podolski is also a replacement for Van Nistelrooy. Both Van Nistelrooy 32 and Raul 31 will be gone within the next 3 years (probably), I wouldn't like to see Raul go as he's such a Real legend but there's a time when a striker needs to retire and 34/35 is when to. We should buy Stefano Okaka from A.S Roma and Aleksandr Prudnikov from Spartak Moscow. In five years I can see our strike force being:
Higuain, Podolski, Okaka, Prudnikov
Anyway, as for the UCL game tonight I think Zenit will be strong at home but we'll get the win. 2-1 Real, VDV and Raul getting the goals.

I'm a big Bayern fan and a follower of Podolski. I hope he can sort things out at Bayern and perhaps win a place in the starting XI but if that doesn't happen I would like to see him go to Real so he can get the playing time he deserves at club level.

Just as long as he doesn't go to Manchester City!

I would hate if he went to Man City. Real is somewhere I would be able to deal with him going to.

Real has advantages that City doesn't have. One, it's virtually a guarantee of CL football, and two, not only will he be with Metzelder during his first foray outside of the Bundesliga, but he'll have a German coach as well.

Yeah, I think he would fit in well with Real. I think he'll be able to use his speed to fit in with their style quite easily as well.

I wasn't sure which Ronaldo he was referring to, because others have included CRonaldo as a striker. Either way, brazilian ronaldo is way past it as well
