Think the best pure striker in the world right now is Fernando Torres without a doubt.

How did you define 'pure'?

How did you define 'pure'?

Someone who is a goalscorer and doesnt play in other positions. Like Messi, Robinho, Robben etc.

Id say the best is Fernando Torres.
Villa, Zlatan, Nistelrooy. And maybe Drogba.

Messi is a class act. I would love to see him in the English Premier League. Best out and striker is Torres, already being spoke of in the same breath as Ian Rush by some Liverpool fans and that is about as high praise as it gets in Anfield.

Surely if that is your definition then a superior goal scorer, like Van Nistelrooy, would rank higher?

His body struggles to cope as it is without putting him into a league that is quicker and more physical.

yeah right, messi would rip it in the epl.
Players with good ball control look like super heroes in EPL, imagine if a great ball controller were to go, Ronaldo's 45 would look like crap.

The point stands. You failed to comprehend it.

He wouldnt be touched as much in the EPL because its so wide open compared to la liga, so physical contact would be much less, therefore his injuries would be much less. With the space players are given in the epl, messi would feel like they are letting him come through to score for free.

You clearly know little about the league in question.

Hes upthere, but i think Torres is better.
Also, think Messi would do excellent in the EPL.

Messi's injury/fitness problems have very little to do with 'contact' and much more to do with physical problems following on from his condition/treatment as a youngster.
There is no reason he couldn't do very well in the EPL but the question mark over the ability of his body to cope would be even bigger there than in La Liga.

I said because is fast and open he would do good, the fact that is open, there are alot of spaces messi would be doing really well in the epl. regardless i hope he never gets to play there anyways, i want him were he is.

Buonanotte

He's an attacking midfielder.

Zarate will be the breakout star this year.

As for best striker in the world right now I'd probably pick Villa.

Comparing the league scoring record over the past 5 seasons and what's been played of this season for some of the main strikers mentioned:

David Villa: 97 goals in 177 matches

Samuel Eto'o: 97 goals in 145 matches

Van Nistelrooy: 91 goals in 148 matches

Torres: 89 goals in 182 matches

Ibrahimovic: 73 goals in 151 matches

Luca Toni: 96 goals in 154 matches

Didier Drogba: 69 goals in 147

Nistelroi

Torris is the next in line,
atm though is has to be Ruud van Nistelrooij.
This guy is something else, he has managed to score and broke records in both the premier leage and la Liga from the day he entered those leagues.
(not to forget the Dutch National team)
And most important, scoring the goals who win matches.
That is what makes a great player isn't? being important at the right time.
Already banged in 7 out of 7 matches for Real and a total of 60 goals allready in Spain.
Sure there are many great and exceptional strikers who match and excel Ruud maybe,
But his level of consistency is unmatched.
