Berbatov is in no way shape or form overrated. He was a great striker for Leverkusen (and notably Bulgaria) before he even moved to England. Once he did he was scoring in every competition for Spurs. I'll say that again, for Spurs. He was their best player by quite some margin and his performances highlight that. Berbatov has exemplary technique, a great football brain and can not only finish but also assist in equal measure. You can use him in several different ways as a direct result.

I agree. I think he is probably underrated. Have you seen the goals he scored for Tottenham ? Most were spectacular, very few easy tap ins and this on a team that wasn't very good. Then at Leverkusen he was a great striker on an average team. If he gets a chance to play regularly with Man Utd he'll do just fine.

He wasn't better than Robbie Keane, but I agree with the rest of your post.

Berbatov did far more for the team overall notably in terms of creating chances for his teammates.

Keane was more consistent throughout the season (Berbatov's form generally his top form after Xmas). Also there was a lack of goals from midfield in Spurs, so Keane picked up the slack. Despite not being a #9, he's got a goal tally that's comparable to most #9s.

Berbatov was the one playing further back and despite that he still scored more than Keane during their time at the club and had more assists by some margin. I wonder how many of Keane's goals Berbatov created?

You can't say Berbatov definitely played further back than Keane, as they worked like a see-saw, alternating and changing positions. Though, Berbatov created more goals, Keane's guile and energy around the box also enabled Berbatov to score the goals that he did.

Could'nt agree more , Keano definitely played further back than Berbatov which was a plus as Berbatov considers running a waste of energy.

In the last 2 seasons Berbatov scored 27 league goals in 69 games.
In the same time-frame Keane scored 26 league goals in 63 games. it should also be noted that Keane scored 27 league goals in the 2 seasons before Berbatov arrived at Spurs. This makes it quite clear that Berbatov's arrival did not make Keane more prolific.
In total Berbatov scored 46 goals in 102 appearances for Spurs. In the same time-frame Keane scored 45 in 98 appearances for Spurs.
Their goalscoring rates over the past 2 seasons are virtually identical. It is true that Berbatov has created more assists than Keane though.
Now both have moved on for big bucks, it will be interesting to see how they adapt to their new teams and how Spurs cope without them.

ibra > Berbatov. Zlatan has scored like 32 goals in 60 games for Inter. He wins this easily.

So what you are saying is that Ibrahimovic plays with far superior players?

Ibrahimovic plays in Serie A which is a much tougher league to score goals in. But I thought you knew that mr scotchman.

well exceptions are everywhere. Did you know Afonso Alves flopped in Sweden but lighted up Holland league and doing quite well in england now. No one predicted that.
Serie A is generally a tougher league to score in, and that's been known for decades.
