A fair few established names (at the top in terms of either quality, performances or potential) have not being doing their reputation any favours during the tournament.

Absurd. Robinho and Podolski don't belong on that list.
Still think Podolski shouldn't be on the list? He basically took Germany into the quarters because Gomez and Klose haven't really showed up yet.

He has not done enough and his continued presence on the left wing hinders Germany and was a major factor in their defeat to Croatia. Klose and Gomez not showing up has a lot to do with tactical reasons.

Klose and Gomez cannot function together while Podolski playing on the left-wing left Jansen badly exposed. If Germany are to win then Löw will need to decide who he wants to partner Podolski up front.

Luca Toni has been absolutely ********ing awful too. Not a good tourney to be a gangly striker it seems.

Agreed, and I believe he made the right choice today with pairing him with Klose upfront and having Hitzelsperger on the left. Too bad Frings wasn't healthy to put in the middle instead of Rolfes, perhaps the Germans may have conceded less goals with him in.

Germany proved they could score without Gomez, they should stick with Klose and Podolski

Actually, they should stick with Podolski-Klose-Schweinsteiger.

Right now it's probably David Villa off his Euro form.

I gotta say he was on form with Valencia leading up to the Euro, scored lots of goals for a low table finish.

I don't think anyone can function with Gomez the way he's been missing those wide open nets :D
