We need someone to do that to create space for Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez. Clinical finishing is not really required. There is a reason why we shifted from Ruud to Saha. I would hope we do not regress back again.
rooney, ronaldo, and tevez all have great technical ability, link up play, and create space for each other they do not need another player like that, what's missing is a clinical finisher as rooney proved he could not play that role this season.

What is missing is having the option of a player for all of them to play off. A clinical finisher is not required and having one would adversely impact on the attacking style of play we have at the moment. The difference between playing with Ruud and playing with Saha is poles apart.

Agreed. And this system did just fine this year, didn't it?

Over 100 goals with no striker for the vast majority.

Take out Podolski, Robinho, and Henry and replace them with Ibrahimovic, Gomez, and Eto'o, and you've got yourself a list. Can't say I agree with your ranking of Drogba higher than van Nistelrooy, Klose and Toni either.

agree about podolski but if you watched any of brazil in the past year you would be hard pressed to leave out robinho...he continues to be by far their best player

I don't think he has been their best player. Maybe in the first half of the season but overall players like Casillas, Raul, Sneijder have been better and more consistent.
Robinho has certainly stepped it up in the last year or so but on form and based on this season you can debate whether he is in the top ten.

I was referring to brazil's national team...in regards to real madrid, in the beginning of the season like you said he was but since his injury his form for club has dropped, but it has not for country

Can't really weigh an opinion more heavily on the national team, everything has to be considered. To me it comes down to consistency of form over the season. Thats why Toni and Torres are shoe-ins for this question.

Which brings us right back to the Ronaldo/Messi debate on whether they merit inclusion in these lists or not...

Pure strikers in my opinion, it gets too complicated when you make exceptions.
