Zlatan! He was prolific last night.
I can see that your statement is dripping in sarcasm .

Very perceptive of you. He only had one shot on target didn't he? At home to Liverpool? Andy Johnson's stats were better.

I guess that means Andy Johnson is better then...

Quite Clearly.
It also means that Zlatan is massively overrated. Shock horror, dare anyone else but an English player be overrated, right?

It sure isn't ********ing Klose. His 'midseason slump' is dragging on a bit too long...

I agree. It certainly seems like it when I do see Henry play with Barca. But considering FR's shuffling and Henry being played out of position, he hasn't done too bad in his first season no?
Actually he has done pretty poorly. He has constantly missed sitters that even semi-pro forwards would put away (and he has gotten several breakaways with Iniesta, xavi, messi putting him through) and his decision making has been below par.

Well he's currently second in the scoring charts in both Serie A and the Champions League...
He's not currently at his best though.
So based on league form, international form and the last 18 months, Ibra still makes your top 3?

Of the top leagues I only see enough of the EPL to render an opinion. I'd pick Torres. Adabayour would probably be next. I suspect others like Zlatan are better than these 2, but I don't see him enough to judge.
Cristiano Ronaldo while not a striker has become a completely dominant offenseive player of late. He is by the far the best player in the EPL this year IMHO.

I'd say Zlatan is not a big game player.

It seems so, there's no doubt he's a great striker though. It's always gonna be very hard to pinpoint ONE striker who is the best in the world. It's just a form thing.

Probably. I see no reason to dump him based on a slight blip in form. As for the calls that he is not a big game player it only highlights the ignorance that people have towards Serie A, particularly considering his record in the league and against his main rival sides.

Hmm seeing as I can't currently think of anyone to better him, I guess I'll let it die. I don't rate him as much as I used to, that's for sure.

In Serie A (or any other league for that matter), teams rely on depth and consistency to come out on top. In the Champion's League, you only have two legs to be able to advance. Zlatan can dominate all he wants in the Serie A but if he can't step it up in the games that count, he's not a big game player.

My point was in regard to him scoring against the biggest sides in Serie A, therefore he has performed in big games.

In addition he has done an awful lot without scoring.

But not in the games that your whole European campaign hinge on.

I can name countless established top players who are guilty of similar. The fact remains that one player does not make a team and players are human. You cannot expect someone to perform in each and every game. Without Ibrahimovic playing Inter would not have won Serie A, not have qualified for the Champions League and would not have made it out of the group stage. At what stage has he done enough? Where do you draw the line? The referee played more of a part in Inter losing both games against Liverpool than any player from either side.

True on all accounts. I'm just a little angry that Inter lost :o. The whole 4 EPL clubs in the quarterfinals is annoying to me :D

So Burdisso didnt deserve his yellow cards, yet the other 5 players who got only one yellow card definitely deserved their's...why arent you disputing those other cards if your disputing Burdisso's...at least the ref was consistent.
