You cannot cherry pick games to favour your player. He did not do enough. End of dance.

Pointing out he was not playing striker is cherry picking games? Give me a break....especially after you decide to cherry pick time frames that favoured your argument.

He did not do enough.
Disagree

End of dance.
Finally.:D

Torres is no joke. The kid's actually been Liverpool's best player this season (from what I've seen), next to Mascherano.

18 totals goals in 25 appearances in his first season at Liverpool. Those are abnormal numbers.

I remember Henry scoring 30/38 in the EPL once if not two seasons. Those are abnormal numbers

He's scored three hat-tricks in his first season at Liverpool. Not many other players can claim that.

He's also only 23.

A .72 goal per game ratio is pretty sick.

Eto'o is 10/12 (.83) total this season. 9/8 in La Liga (1.125). Considering how much of the season he's missed, I'd say that it also incredible.

Henry scored 17 league goals in his first league season in England and 26 goals in total.
Van Nistelrooy scored 23 league goals in his first league season in England and 36 goals in total.

Torres has scored 18 league goals so far and 24 goals in total. He has also been injured 3 times this season and has missed games as a result.

Torres has had an excellent season so far and deserves plaudits, however Henry and Van Nistelrooy stood out for being consistently prolific over a period of a few seasons. Torres has not yet achieved that in England.

Torres' current form is certainly up there with anyone but he needs to maintain similar levels throughout this season and next before he can be considered the best striker in the World. He is already one of the best in England.

They are certainly abnormal for a Liverpool striker. I'm well aware of Torres' quality and his record is exceptional considering the team he plays for. No offense to Liverpool but their attack is not on the same level as either Man Utd or Arsenal. For Torres to have done so well and in his first season is a surprise and he deserves a lot of praise for it. It will be interesting to see how he does if Liverpool get the rest of their attack in order.

I agree. In my mind he is the best all round striker in the world and it is good to see him recover from injury in the manner that he has.

Hopefully Messi can do the same in six weeks :(. It's sad to see someone with so much talent and potential at such a young age have these nagging problems.
