Ouch.

Well, look at the bright side guys--at least your world-class LB isn't out for the entire bloody season. :(

He's a great player. I wonder who's going to be playing LB for England now, since Bridge isn't fully recovered yet. No Neville, no Cole.........is it time for the 3-5-2?

Article mentions Neville (blue one) or Richardson or Carragher...

Sven has called up Stephen Warnock to replace him. Richardson has been doing the job for us recently, but he probably wouldn't start there.

I just hope the boss goes with Clichy and doesn;t get any lame brain ideas about Cygan...

I agree. I haven't felt that he has been that spectacular this year. Someone posted not long ago that Cole had played his way out of the fans' doghouse after his tap up disgrace this summer. I didn't see the performance that the poster seemed to have seen but, I thought maybe they knew something I didn't know.

The guy needs to keep his mouth shut, but how does that affect his ability to kick a ball?

These guys should be out there playing with little injuries like that. It's a stress fracture. It's not on the top of his head is it? So he can kick the ball and head it, what else to you need?

I agree. Clichy will do fine. Cole has sucked going forward for awhile now and hasn't been great in defense either. Still leaves us with even less depth. Anyone watch Hoyte last weekend? He looked pretty good at LB and played a big part in their goal.

I saw the Sunderland match, but I don't see Hoyte coming back due to this injury. If anything I think it's a possibility we'll see either Lauren and/or Toure moving over if something goes wrong with Clichy. There is of course the other Ryan, not the one who just went out on loan. Seems we're good at developing left-sided players. Shouldn't be a problem.

I remember in the B'ham match Cole received a pass on the left side inside the box and he blew his shot at least six feet high and wide of the left corner. That attempt pretty much summarized his season for me.
He'll be alright with Cheryl whatsherface comforting him at night, though. :p

Defensively, I think we will be okay with Clichy. However, despite the consensus that Cole has been crap going forward this year.....expecting more offensively from Clichy is wishful thinking, IMHO.
