i like quality movies regardless of genre, even if they are "chick flicks"
off the top of my head, some CF gems:
the goodbye girl
about a boy
love, actually
9 to 5
barefoot in the park
moonstruck
jerry mcguire
much ado about nothing
as good as it gets
party girl
for whatever reason, i'd never considered shakespeare in love a chick flick, but it is quite clever

Why is this in "Food & Travel"?
Anyway, there are two kinds of chick flicks: those with Hugh Grant, and those without Hugh Grant.

Love Actually. The film was crap but the memories attacted to the week around I went to see it make me like it. :D

I think that was a total chick flick, and the production company and the director realized it at some point, so they thought, "hey, we need a subplot that would keep guys interested. I wonder what would work? Hey, I know: BOOBS!"
That's my theory of the story of the porn stand-ins, anyway,.

Let's be honest fellas, there is only one reason why we see these movies in the first place....

Chicks dig Mel Gibson. Guys dig violence and a hot Sophie Marceau. A win-win! ;)

Love, Actually felt like the director was too unsure of himself to just let any of the stories tell themselves, so he just kept cramming more and more extra subplots in there. The porn one was the worst, but the Colin Firt one was a close 2nd. Had the potential to be a good movie.
Anyway, as I think bluedaddy stated, as long as a film is written well, I don't mind if the "target" is chicks or kids or old men--I'll probably enjoy it, even though I'm none of those things.

Offocer and a Gentlemen it would have been better of Robert Loggia had showed up for Gere's graduation.

"Up in smoke"
"I spit on your grave"
Haha "I spit on your grave" I have that "chick flick" I didn't know it was one.
Try the "Story of O" I kind of like the black servant girl and the masks were a nice touch and O had an arse and a half. To bad girls don't let there Bushes grow like her any more.

Bang on.
The Girl Next Door
Qué? This flick seems more aimed at 14 year old boys than at girls imho. At least that's what I get from the whole 'porn star moving in next door' plotline.
