Interesting comments from Wenger about Smith going to Leicester...

“He is a great, great prospect and we feel he needs to play because Reserve games are a little bit too easy for him sometimes. He needs to play at the top level, somewhere like the Championship.”

Watching him in the reserves he did look a bit... well almost bored...

I think it's the right move for him, because, sometimes, even if the Reserves matches look too easy, loaning him out to West Brom or Portsmouth is too much of a jump, because he ends up playing against top-end opposition before he's ready. Having him go and play in the Championship is a step-up, but not so much that he'll feel overwhelmed and have his confidence killed.

I've got a Leicester supporting mate, who said he looked pretty good when he came on as sub. I'll let you know how he gets on...

There's a chance there for him to impress with Pires slowing down and the boss' seeming dislike for playing Reyes wide. Hopefully he'll do well and come back ready to really challenge for the first team.

Ryan Smith changed the game when he came on as a sub according to Leicester fans. They even chanted "You're to good for us," or something similar to that. They are really excited about him.

He's a great potential. Pretty impressive when you look at the recent crop of Arsenal reserves and youths who are having an impact at other clubs. Fulham and Birmingham are the big winners.

Don't forget Charlton with Jerome Thomas! Talk about a ready replacement for Pires

Speaking of the reserves, they drew 0-0 with Chelsea today.

Injured? How weird because normally that kid is fit as a fiddle. That kid has the worst luck. Note to self, never go into a business venture with Aliadierre.

OT, sorry, but I've lost track of the name of the teen transfer from this summer who was saddled with the 'Next Zidane' label. Thanks in advance.

Your boy Ryan Smith, scored today against Sheff Utd. Also set up at least one goal.

Apparently we are gonna ask if we can keep him for a bit longer. Big crowd favourite as well.

Young Smithy is excellent and I have no problem if you keep him till the end of the season! He needs the experience, just give him back once you have finished with him!

I've never had a chance to see Smith play. What style of winger is he? What are his strongest characteristics?
