So I moved from DC to Chicago a couple months back. I like it here better in every way except the marked lack of access to RFK, DCU telecasts, etc. At the moment I'm rooting hard for Chicago to finish third (and us in second) so I can see the boys live in the playoffs. And if there's anyplace in the city that shows DC games, I'd be eternally grateful for the knowledge. I know there have to be other DCU fans here, right? Discuss.

there were several locals with us when we played Chicago 2 months ago, also few from area came to Columbus game too (it's probably little closer than it was to us from DC :) )

Welcome to Chicago. Your right, minus the access to RFK and DC United home games it is a great place to live.

With MLS Direct Kick you can see almost every DC United match. Or you can watch live streaming video on mlsnet.com. At least that works for me.
As for stadium access. It sucks not to be able to get to RFK. But I see that there will be a dedicated away supporters section in the new stadium in Bridgeview. The seating chart posted on the Fire boards showed it to be section 101. It's in the lower west stand in the corner near the stage.
My guess is that section will be rocking at least twice per season. ;)

Thanks, all, for the knowledge. And while tonights results may change things, it looks like there will be one DCU-Fire playoff game at Soldier's Field. That should be cool--is anyone here coordinating with the supporters groups in DC about that?

Are you going to coordinate with the DC-based folks or is this going to be a separate section? I think it would be ideal to consolidate--the more of a unified presence, the better.

I was already getting a group for the playoff game in the section where my season tickets are. The section is near midfield and on the west side of the stadium. If anyone is interested, send me a pm.

I was supposed to have dinner with my boss Friday, but one of the guests had to cancel, so we can attend now. We even had the baby sitter already lined up.
God does love me!

In an absolutely sh!tbag-ugly stroke of fate, it turns out I have a group of friends and relatives rolling into town on Friday night. Thus no playoff game for me. Worst luck ever. Still, represent for DCU everyone else. I'll be there in spirit.

"Why are you stopping?"
"Oh I heard there's a soccer stadium here."
"They play soccer in Chicago?"
"Umm, the lights are on, maybe there's a game on tonight, let's go and see."

The way I introduced wife (then my girlfriend of course) to my parents was they came to DC and we all went to a United game.

My TiVo says that this Friday's game is not going to be televised locally--is that right? Lord almighty I hope not.

Looks like that's right. And even if you get the Mid-Atlantic CSN, I think it'll be blacked-out outside the area on account of it being on Direct Kick.
btw, you may have heard of it or been there already, but The Globe (http://www.theglobepub.com) in Irving Park Rd is one of the best footy pubs in the city. They've got Direct Kick and lots of tvs.
