comprenette... is that some kind of swiss french? i'm pretty good at all kinds of froggy slang and have never run across that.

i'm going to use it at the earliest possible occasion.

It's not really a Swiss-French expression... I am glad that you like it!!!

If you will a typical farmer Swiss expression:

Debleu ma femme devait panosser le galetat quand elle m'a dit à la revoyure!!!

Debleu ma femme devait panosser le galetat quand elle m'a dit à la revoyure!!!

Panosser le galetat means 'to clean the house or home'. I think....

I think its colloquial for a house in bad condition. Like a dirty house.

I know for a fact that 'panosser' means to scrub or to clean. One of my friends in college was from Romande.

Revoyure is kinda like revoir in French. So its something about her telling me goodbye.

Yes?

Debleu? haven't got a clue. Must be a conjuction of some sort.

anyone who thinks Frei is not such a threat needs to look again. In the qualifiers he's been hot.

Well guys, sure looks like it's going to be tough in Switzerland. With Henry and Trez out, how are we going to score goals? Cissé better be in top shape--or maybe a touch of magic from Zidane will save us...

Seems that some on the Switzerland board would be satisfied with a draw--it wouldn't be catastrophic for us, but it'll mean that, with a Switzerland win in Ireland (a real possibility IMO), we would have to beat Cyprus by 5 goals (6 goals if Switzerland beats Ireland by 2 goals) to avoid a playoff. I simply don't see it.

Now the key question that should determine how we'll play against Switzerland is:

Do we have more to lose if we lose in Switzerland than we have to win if we win in Switzerland?

If the answer is yes (and I think it is--a loss in Switzerland would put us in an extremely perillious position), then we should play defensively--play for a draw and hope for a win...

Well, at least this time I'll suffer in front of the TV in France and not following the play-by-play on Big Soccer--I'm off to Paris on Friday; will be back in the US and on these boards for the Cyprus game though.

ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!!

Ok, so it's about the husband telling the wife to clean the house and she says enough and takes off. Right?

Yes, TV5 only has rights to France's home games for WC qualifiers. Good luck guys--as mentioned by Fish your best bet might be LC2.
