i'd rather see giuly and zidane form up with cisse in an attacking triangle.

malouda is an excellent option off the bench, so i agree with the dhorasoo start

I can't believe these injury's hit france now.
I hope france can win this one. This can be there automatic qualifier as first place. Alexander Frei is a scoring machine. France needs to score a couple in this one. Good Luck

Holland have a meager 15 million...

you also have to think about the number of licenciés (i don't know the english term, it means card-holding players).

in holland football pitches are everywhere. i lived with a bunch of counterculture types, the kind who would make fun of you in france or the states for doing sports... they were all on football teams, male and female! ffs, my girlfriend's mom had just stopped playing and she was in her late 40's!

that makes a huge talent pool to draw from.

...Alexander Frei is a scoring machine...

this translated from l'équipe

Frei down in the dumps

Last year's top L1 scorer (20 goals), who has been almost silent this season (1 goal) he says he's morally "in the dumps" after going scoreless again this week (Rennes - Lyon 1-3).

"For the moment, France has nothing to fear from Frei. If I play like I did against Lyon, it's like we're playing with 10 men. Mentally I'm at zero. We have a generation that doesn't have any complexes, except me."

Sounds like he was just upset after the game (was he being a tad sarcastic maybe?) He certainly didn't sound like that in the Swiss media. He might not be on fire in Ligue 1 but he has scored six goals in the last six games for the national team.

...and Switzerland one of the best european striker.... ;) 0.58 goals per match for Frei. He's better as Trézeguet!!!! (only for this statistic) and as everybody knows, Switzerland has not so many talentuous players as France... Etonnant non???? :D

Yes that made me chuckle too. Clearly the Italian influence in Switzerland. The guy goes seamlessly between french and english so props to Garci.
