So this is it;
1.Israel 10 4 6 0 15-10 18
2.Switzerland 9 4 5 0 18- 7 17
3.France 9 4 5 0 10- 2 17
4.Ireland 9 4 4 1 12- 5 16
5.Cyprus 9 1 1 7 8-16 4
6.Faroe Islands 10 0 1 9 4-27 1
Basically France must hope that Switzerland DO NOT win in Ireland...
And of course they should beat Cyprus.

im dissapointed, we came out and possessed the second half, but the team's failing came from set pieces, and also the giving away of dangerous freekicks. The swiss were dangerous the entire game, but i can't help but feel that they lucked out that goal.

this is way to stressful man, we really should have wrapped up our qualification today. Now we have hope ireland beat the swiss or that they tie, i hate when the out come is out of our hands

Thats it - No world cup for Israel thanks to a lucky Swiss free kick deflection...
Doesn't Israel still get into the playoffs if Switzerland and Ireland tie or France loses or ties?

Switzerland would go ahead on GD. So would France if they only drew.

if you try to speed up the recovery of an injured player, the results are usually negative. Trezeguet needs more rest i think, i saw the match where he got injured and it looks pretty bad.
All we can do is hope for the best at this point. Ireland lacked decisiveness against Cyprus today, so maybe we should start worrying as well :(

There are going to be some good team in the playoff like the zcheck. Today netherland qualify so check will finish second. I really hope that domenach brings an a game on wednesday... :( :(

Actually, we'd be happy with even a B game from Domenech.

France will top the group if they win IRREGARDLESS of the other results.
If France gets the 3 points from the last game they will overtake Swiss through better head to head (Away goal rule applies). So your fate is certainly in your own hands.
Furthermore Israel has 0 chance of topping the group now because they will at most be second place as ANY result in the Ireland-Swiss game will drop Israel down one spot (Again due to away goal rule).

Czech is third, not second, they need a win and only a win in their final game if they are to reach the playoffs

Nope, head-to-head results come after overall goal difference, we'll have to wait the Ireland-Switzerland result ...

Are you sure about that Melli? I've heard otherwise, I've heard we have to win, and Switzerland has to tie or lose for us to be on top. The commentator i was listening to said that If Switerland wins vs. ireland, they are on top of the group. I don't understand what the tie breaker would be between France and Switzerland at that point, things like this usually get complicated, is it away goals head to head? or away goals total? or goal differential?? I have no clue.

No. England or Poland have done, and the other one is most likely Sweden or Croatia.

If that was the case they should be 2nd on the ranking. Why all the ranking say that they are 3rd. I dont get it??????
1 Israel 10 4 6 0 15 10 2 3 0 8 6 2 3 0 7 4 5 18
2 Switzerland 9 4 5 0 18 7 2 3 0 10 3 2 2 0 8 4 11 17

Overall GD.
So France may need a few goals against Cyprus.
France is +8 and Switzerland is +11, so 4-0 is potentially a must

*sigh*
Wrong.
If France win by 2 goals and Switzerland win by 1 goal, Switzerland will top the group. France need to score 4 goals and hope that Switzerland only win by one goal.
If France gets the 3 points from the last game they will overtake Swiss through better head to head (Away goal rule applies). So your fate is certainly in your own hands.
Away goals DO NOT apply.

Israel can only achieve a playoff spot, by hoping that Ireland win and France lose.
Basically....
