GREAT MOVIE! Everyone should watch this if you don't even care about "sawker."

Came out this week, starring Elijah Wood as a Harvard University dropout who moves to England where he joins West Ham's infamous "Green Street Elite" Firm.
Rated R since it is VERY violent, but it is a great movie and as we are all football fans, we should all watch it.

Yea, there were about 20 ppl in the movie theatre last nite...and it was the 3rd day it was on in Boston.

You would think ppl would come just for the violence.

HOpefully word of mouth from ppl like me will get this movie alot of attention. It was a very highly rated movie.

It wasn't a Hollywood film. It was an Indie film that was bought out.

And the story is based on the true life of the director, who was a part of the GSE when she went to London.

Green Street is director Lexi Alexander’s first full length feature and arrives after her last short film Johnny Flynton was nominated for an Oscar. Drawing on from her own childhood and teenage years when she became involved with an inner city football gang whilst growing up in Germany, Alexander called on many members of the hooligan ‘firms’ she was involved in who acted as advisers on the production of the film to make it as authentic as possible.

I guess I was wrong that she was part of GSE then...oh well, I didn't go to the Q&A..

Read a review of the movie like the one above, then you can get some background in the movie.

so she was imersed in hooligan culture in Germany. The GSE follow West Ham in England, while she was exposed to hooligan's in Germany, so the GSE is not real.

I walked out of the theater wanting to bash someones head in.

I thought it was done well except for the cheesy ending part. It's worth seeing this film if you get a chance.

The one question I have for those in England: Is there still a lot of this going on? It seems like it still does with Millwall and West Ham.

I really don't feel that it was trying to glorify it at all. I think they did a good job of telling the story and seeing a bit of what it's like and how much hatred there is between some Firms.

Saw it, liked it.

Saw it last night in a theater in NYC smaller than my old Williamsburg apartment.

I thought it was a better movie than "Football Factory," not as funny, tho.

You never hear a reference to players, just firms.

In "Football Factory," the firm was Chelsea and the main rival was Millwall.

Maybe there will be a movie where you get to see hooliganism from all the Top Firms: Chelsea, Millwall and West Ham.

McCauley Caulkin will get the role, hopefully.

Well done film I must say. I was expecting rubbish, but the story is VERY believable despite what some have said. Some of the little details were really well done. The shot of the new Wembley against a backdrop of England's old problems... ********in' brilliant. The rejected foot soldeir singing an emotional "I'm Forver Blowing Bubbles" while drunk...very intense. The rich American checking his fantasy NFL team...and the talk about baseball....the cultural wake-up call all Americans will have to deal with in the coming decades.

Gary Oldman's "The Firm" and the 1995 film "I.D." are right up there with this one if any of you are looking for similar films.

everything was good in the movie EXCEPT Elijah Wood.
ANyone else could have played the part and looked harder than him.
He is just not believable in the role. A girl could have played the role more convincingly than him. I laughed with every punch he threw and took. it wa s hilarious.

Some of the words in your post are "sponsored links" - like when you say "films" - does that happen for anyone else, or do I have some ************ thing that I need to clean off my comp?
