I feel sick.

Actually I am sick. But at least my overly medicated body wasn't able to get out to see the Crew lose to the Seedies. Held scoreless, at home, last game of the season, to the worst team in the league.

No playoffs, officially now.

We are out of the playoffs so tie breakers don't matter.

If looking at the worst team in the conference. Goal differential would still break us.

Time to make my "Save us Sigi" sign for next season.

Pretty much gives Sigi a completely free hand.

I don't think anybody's safe after a result like that.

We can still equal KC's points total if they lose their remaining 2 games and we run the table in our remaining 3.

MLSnet's playoff scenarios said a Crew loss AND a KC draw or win would eliminate us. But I don't know how accurate that really is.

If you saw the "game" you would say we are MERCIFULLY eliminated form the playoffs. That was a team mostly mailing it in - at home - on the last CCS game this year. From the way we played...it's OK with me.

Bob has made some good moves, but why oh why did we let KMart demonstrate, again, that he has NO business in the center of the field. He really doesn't seem to want the ball in the middle and rarely Moved to receive it.

Loco is very energetic, but lacks basic offensive skills, the latino Mario Gori, IMO.

Cornell Glenn is very dangerous and should be (as Myshap noted) and excellent winger if he cant figure out how to finish in front.

Edson Buddle was one of the two most dangerous players on the field, but needs someone to work with other than Ft. Knox.

All in all, I am actually happy I don't need to watch anymore games like tonight's. I've never seen so many guys standing around waiting for a ball since U-11 B sides.

I'd like to see Simon Eliott come back and have someone to work with, I felt sorry for him tonight...

Frankly, I thought Kyle looked great in the first half. But in the second half, he had the horrible turnover that set up the only goal of the match, and that was all she wrote.

I don't know which is the worst:

A)The fact that we just dropped our home finale to the worst team in the entire ten-year history of the league,

B)The fact that by doing so, we finish with a losing home record for the first time, or

C)The fact that I'm not really surprised.

I will stand up and give a big hand to the only group of people associated with that match who deserve any applause, and that's the folks in 137. You made a lot of noise, which was no great feat considering the rest of the stadium sounded like a tomb. But from 106 the section looked fuller than it has all year, you could tell there was a lot of energy and support for the team, and someone (Chelsey?) was bouncing around the section all night like a dervish, stirring people up. I almost left my family in the last 10 minutes to come over and clap you, but Mrs. Imposter wasn't in the greatest mood tonight, so I didn't risk it. It was a good performance from what looked like a real solid supporters group tonight. I will definitely find a way to spend some match time over there next year.

Oh, yeah, I'll clap the guy who chooses the music for all the Clash songs he put out there tonight.

Other than that...

If Sigi's comin', I hope he's bringing a big broom. Or maybe a machete. ******** of a lot of dead wood out there tonight. Maybe I'll feel different in the cold light of day, but right now I couldn't care less if I ever see Kyle Martino in a Crew uniform again. In fact, that goes for just about everybody on the pitch tonight. I'm holding on to my wallet until I see some big changes out there.

Who am I kidding? I'll be back there in April. See you then.

All of the above.

ya know, there used to be a time when Van Halens 'somebody get me a doctor', or some other mocking-tune, was played when the opposing team had a player down/injured, but now it seems to apply to the home team as well...

minor, i know, but i noticed that tonight...

During the second half, I saw a back line of 5 people. After the game, Marcelo Balboa said he saw 7 people in the back.

We're down by one and we have 5 defenders??

Disgusting.

Reminds me of something: DCU fans at the All-Star Game yelling this it Matt Reis:
You got beat by Chivas!
You got beat by Chivas!
You got beat by Chivas!
You got beat by Chivas!

Yes we did.

Everybody else has the AP story:

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Midfielder Francisco Palencia scored in the second half to lead Chivas USA to a 1-0 win over the Columbus Crew on Saturday.

The Crew (10-15-4) almost tied the game in the 71st minute but John Wolyniec could not convert a rebound attempt near the Chivas USA goal.

Chivas USA (4-21-5) picked up its first road win of the season and its first victory overall since beating New England on July 22. The loss eliminated Columbus from postseason contention.

"We had a lot of problems in this game," Chivas USA coach Hans Westerhof said. "We didn't play so well, but we were lucky. Before, the luck went to the opponent."

The Crew's first quality chance came in the 9th minute, when Edson Buddle redirected a Chad Marshall header into the arms of goalie Sergio Garcia.

Columbus had a goal called back in the 16th minute when Knox Cameron redirected a Martino free kick from an offside position.

"We didn't have any spark from anybody," Crew coach Robert Warzycha said.

Columbus managed only one dangerous chance in the waning minutes of the game, as Simon Elliott pulled a hard shot wide left in stoppage time.

No more ifs ands or buts: this season is toast, most of the team is toast, some of the toast is spread with Isigny butter, covered with poached lobster medallions and shaved truffles.

New theme for the players: "Don't fear the reaper (my fundamental orifice.)"

 :(
