wowwww, I dont think ive ever seen somethin like this in pro soccer, perhaps pro sports all together. How much of nice guy does a pro have to be to sit with his team fans AND play the drums when he is suspended.

Is anyone else just AMAZED by Christian Gomez' LOVE for his team and fans??
that is some serious character from a person outside his soccer world.

AND we are now in the playoffs, lets go for the 5th DC. Do it for DC, Yourself the players, the fans, and Alecko.

Oh, my!

I don't think there is another professional athlete like Christian Gomez. Most pro athletes, if missing a game, would rather sit on the end of the bench or in a toasty owner's box. Gomez, however, was with the fans. Beating a drum!

F***ing awesome!!!! What a salt-of-the-earth kind of guy!

I saw him the first time and thought, "Hey, that guy looks like Gomito.... NAAAH!!!!"

Then the commentators said, "That's Cristian Gomez!"

DAMN! Wish I had paid the $70 and gone up on the bus... well worth it to see a 4-1 spanking of the Scum in RFK-North AND get to hang out with Gomito.

Most excellent to see.
Another reason DC United is truly "the greatest football team."
HUGE props to Christian.

Wish I had been there as well, but awesome to see regardless.

Superclub my arse.

One of the best and worst days I've had in a while. I had to bail on the trip and yet I was nearly having a religous experience watching United throw a machete into the heart the beasts in their own (OUR) place.
Gomez playing drums was epic! Everything is right in the world for now.
La Barra Brava! ******** the Metros and their fans. Get well soon Rob.

That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in pro sports.

It wasn't like he was there just for two minutes to say hey and bang on the drum either, although that still would have been cool. He was there for at least the entire second half judging from what CSN gave us, and potentially longer.

Yet more proof why DCU is the gold standard by which all other things MLS are measured.
