EchoStar will announce today that it's carrying ESPN Deportes in its DISH Latino Spanish-language offering. The network will debut today, and in time for ESPN's coverage of the San Francisco 49ers/Arizona Cardinals game taking place Sunday night in Mexico City.
COMPETITIVE WATCH: Fios Adds Programming - This week, Verizon announced key programming deals for its FiOS TV service. On Thursday, the company announced a long-term agreement with The Weather Channel for two separate services: The Weather Channel and Weatherscan by The Weather Channel. FiOS TV also announced a VOD deal with WWE and carriage agreements with Lifetime Television, TV shopping network HSN, Jewelry Television and Ovation. In addition, the company has deals with Disney/ESPN, NBC Universal Cable, Starz Entertainment Group, Showtime Networks, A&E Television Networks, Discovery Networks and Turner Broadcasting System.
