Honestly this is killing me. I've been a fan of DC since 96 and I cant remember playing Bayer. Was it a friendly or what?

You played Bayer (no 'n' on the end) Leverkusen in a friendly on May 23, 2001.

During the Hudson years. (Most of us, have mental blocks)
I think they were the first Euro side that had beaten United. And they were handicapped with the Spaz.

It was a pretty good game. I was there. We lost 4-3, IIRC.

DC was winning 3-2 in the 2nd half before Leverkusen scored 2 goals to take the 4-3 win. DC goals were scored by Convey, Talley (PK), and Albright.

it was the same bayer leverkusen team that lost to real madrid in the champions league final
if i recall yildiray basturk and another guy who's still on the team now scored some sweet goals
4-3, just goes to show how good we are, damn do we always have to hold up MLS?

The bad/dissapointing years all kinda blend together now.
