I say we just go for it. Plus, KJ said the hotel bar stays open late, so that seals the deal in my book!
Cool-I'll make our reservations today! :D

Actually really busy with work. I have a ton of stuff to do this month and I'm out for at least a week of it!

Yeah, it's been busy here today too, and hadn't logged in since 10:45. Imagine my surprise upon logging back in to find that mine was the last post!

Man, I'm so beat from yesterday. Bready called me on Saturday night to report that Nevada Smiths would be showing the South American feed of Arsenal v Birmingham live @ 8:30. So, I set the alarm for 5:25 on Sunday morning, but sleep right through it. I get out of the house by 7, and roll into Manhattan @ 9. I catch up with Bready by 9:15, to catch the second half of a very frustrating match.

Next, we go back uptown to pick up Bready's "Lady Phriend" and her lovely roomate, the vulga Olga. Bready's roommate decides to come with us, so the five of us pile into my Outback and head to Staten Island. We get there with relative ease, and grab some grub.

Bready still had one extra ticket, so he miracled some dude outside, and then we headed in.

It was a glorious day in NYC, and the view from the stadium was spectacular. In fact, if there was no stage, we would have been able to see the whole of the NY skyline.

OK, the bands in order of appearance:

Redwalls - Good stuff. The lead singer seems to be suffering from Bob Dylan complex. He had the hat from the Rolling Thunder tour and everything.

Jesse Malin - Had never heard of him before, and never want to hear him again. Quite simply, he sucked.

Kasabian - Kicked major ass. I love their album, and it translated really well live.

Lemonheads - This was the Lemonheads first show in years, and they did not disappoint.

Doves - Highlight of the day. A great, great set of music.

(At this point Bready, the girls and Bready's roommate, all decide to head back to the city, as the girls want to be home in time for Desperate Houswives, and Bready doesn't really care about the next two bands...)

Jet - Impressive set. Good, straight ahead rock and roll. Kinda sloppy, but in a good way.

Oasis - Greatest hits show, which was to be expected. However, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger were fantastic. Oddly enough, the band seemed to have the most fun when they were playing someone else's music; they closed with The Who's "My Generation."

9 hours of music later, I began my journey home. I followed the lines going south, and rolled in around 12:40. A long ass day, but well worth the major fatigue I'm feelling today.

Oh - best random moments of the day:

The dude playing Eye-Toy at the PS2 stand - He looked like he was having some sort of seizure.

The girl who looked to be about 12 years old who took one big drag off of a joint, and then couldn't stand up straight for the next hour.

The very slutty looking older woman wearing hot pants and high heels.

Back when we were still together, I gave KA a replica Time Turner for Christmas. She loved it.

Let's go Chi-town. Fricken sucks that the Yanks have to go out to LA because Buck Showalter pulled his starters. The a-hole is still bitter he got fired back in 1995.

Mike, sounds like you had a great day! Thanks for the update and it goes to prove that Bready really is a music snob! ;) :D

Well, I'm a bit of a music snob too, but I had never seen Oasis before, and DLBIA is one of my favorite songs, so I had to stay to hear that.

Yeah, I didn't come into work until 8:45, but I skipped lunch, so I'll probably roll around 5, get home, attempt to work out while watching Curb Your Enthusiasm on inDemand. Then I'll fix dinner, watch Rome on inDemand, set the VCR to tape Prison Break and then collapse.

:p

Oh, I like to give Ryan grief because I am as bad as he is! But I do like Jet and Oasis so I would have stayed as well.

I used to watch the Insomniac show all the time. I wish I could find old episodes of it, particularly when he was in Amsterdam.

He has a DVD that is likely on Amazon or one of those outlets.
