Just saw this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000BIXAV2/qid=1128395295/sr=8-4/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl65/104-7054089-7279127?v=glance&s=software&n=507846

can it be right? Thats a very low price for the game, and it appears to be WWSM. Is this maybe last years version? I would like the get the game straight from europe, but if this is the 2006 version the price is too good to miss.

And that date, do I read an actual date? It does not say ETA, it says release date of 11/3. Gamestop says ETA of 11/1. I think we will have a similar event as last year, trying to figure out when it's coming out...will SI give us a date!

it's looking like mid december. I can understand trying to be patient for a game, but I'm not going to wait two-three months MORE for my FM ;)

I think I'll probably double-dip, buy the game from gameplay.co.uk when it comes out and then get WWSM for a family member (try to get them addicted) when it eventually comes here

It was just a bit of pent-up rage. I could deal with the name change (WWSM vs. FM), and even the US language wasn't that bad, but the different patches for the game really ticked me off. WWSM patch vs. FM patch.
That is the biggest problem with WWSM and why I'll always get FM. Who wants to wait to get the game and then wait even longer for every round of patches.

Because if people don't buy WWSM, it will never be easily available here.

So what? Maybe they would just ship FM to us and scrap this stupid WWSM idea? Hell just ship FM in WWSM boxes if you are worried about the "football" name confusion issue.

Sure sounds better than having to wait for every patch.

I thought the only patch for 2005 that was delayed was the first?

I can't say that I remember, and I'll make sure they guys know that waiting for the patch is a problem, so I'll push the appropriate people to make sure they get out much closer together.

And it does matter if people buy it as WWSM in the US, if you want the game to be more easily available and widely played.

But i'm obviously biased, and at the end of the day playing FM under any guise is a good things, I didn't want to make it seem like it wasn't, so sorry if I did.

I bought FM 2005 from ethaicd.com, a website from Thailand. It was pretty cheap and an official copy, but the manual is in thai.

Got my FM2006 from GoGamer.com today -- today being the date they had said it would be available to ship. Woohoo! Interestingly, the box says "Not for sale outside Southeast Asia", but it shipped from somewhere in southern California. Hmmm.

Who cares, I'm playing! It cost me considerably more than $30, but I'm playing now!!!

Well. i guess my procrastination paid off some. Since i was slow to order an import copy, I saw the message on the SI boards announcing the date for US realease of FM 06. It appears that Amazon.com date was right. I guess I'll be going with that option now, helping SI's sales in the US in the process. Hopefully they'll try to expand the game here.

I think it would be best for those that haven't brought the game yet to purchase your copy in the U.S. Just because good sales here insures that the game will still be sold here.

You can also pre-order from www.gogamer.com. This is where I got FM2005 last year -- it's the import of FM, not WWSM, and I got it last year before WWSM showed up anywhere in the states. They say it will ship 10/25, and they offer 2-day FedEx for $5.99. I didn't calculate real carefully, but I think with shipping it is a bit less than if you buy from gameplay.co.uk. I know WWSM is the exact same game, and I understand the desire to let US outlets know there's some demand for it, but to tell the truth I just want it sooner.

Sounds like their service worked for you and you'd recomend it again. I picked up a copy of FM5 a couple months ago and I'm itching to get the new version.
