Year after year Juve have one of the top budgets in Europe. Its consistant throughout history. Thats what makes them a big club. Forget about attendence. If Lyon played in Serie A their budget would be even higher than what it is now. Theyd be forced to spend more to compete with Juve, Milan, and Inter. Those 3 clubs are European juggernauts in terms of wealth.
And if Lyon played in the French version of the Delli Alpi, they would have awful attendance.
A notion lost on our dear departed friend.

JM Aulas has a lot of power. Im sure hes doing everything he can to try to ensure the looking term future and success of his club. Hopefully he is influential and powerfull enough to get things resolved. A European DCNG would be great and something he should be leading the charge for. These damn Italian teams need to stop spending money they dont have.

Finally something I can agree with.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to fall off the top of the heap. Juve lost 3 million last year and 18.5 million the year before. One or two missed champions leagues and they are 55 to 60 million in the hole. How quickly these things can turn.
Lyon operates at a profit.
You mean like when Real were in debt, and had to sell off their training ground?
Didn't stop em buying Zizou, Robino, Owen and Beckham...did it?
Being in debt means nothing to the top clubs. They all live in debt, welcome to the 21st century.
Lyon's profit margins are meaningless, they will get outspent by Juve and the other top clubs year after year.
That's how it will be. And shall be year after year, until the sun explodes.

Its not a question on what they have spent this year.
Its a question of their ability to spend next year, and the year after that, and after that.
The same cannot be said for Lyon.
Pound for Pound, Juve are the better team. No one is denying Lyon's ability, but to suggest that they are a top 10 club is laughable.
Top 20. Yep. Top 10. No way.
Well, all I can tell is that I've seen plenty of Top 10 lists on a lot of forums since the beginning of the season, and I don't think I've seen a single list without Lyon in it (maybe 1 or 2).

There would be a lot of politics involved in bringing such a system into Italy and other top leagues however.
Sad but true. :(

As of now. Yes.
As of the future and in general terms. Then no.

It would have if they played in France and not Spain :-)

In general terms, Arsenal's not in it too, Chelsea's not in it too, etc...

You'll notice that Aulas would never be stuip enough to send Lyon's stadium to St. Ettiene

Hmmmm. Arsenal maybe. Chelsea, obviously on the notion that the Roman cash will flow.
btw: I would suggest that Arsenal have more fans that Lyon do. I would say they have a far greater influence that meets the eye.

Eh?
Juve weren't exactly thrilled about moving to the Delli Alpi either you know.
The Communale was falling apart, and Italy have had something of a tenacious love affair with stadiums and teams. For the most part they have been an after thought.

I laugh when I see things like Marseille wanting to expand the Velodrome to 80,000 seats. I say whats the point in that because even if they averaged 70,000 per match and Juve averaged 27,000 per match Juve would still be able to outspend them by a mile and theyd still attact the better players. OM would have to have 5 straight years of C1 football to even have a chance of coming closer to their budget.Things arent fair and equal.

Lyon are not high-profile and prestigous, but are currently one of the top 10 in Europe.
The point I was trying to make.

Well considering you starting talking about Aulas and St-Etienne, when I was on about the Delli Alpi and its location of the main motorway outside of town and its over capacity for Juve, pretty much has summed up your imbroglio of thoughts on the subject.

Doesnt have anything to do with who have more fans Arsenal are a bigger club than Lyon period. Lyon cant lure and attract a player like Thierry Henry and Arsenal have him and I dont care how they got him. John Carew ? lol please. The biggest clubs have the best players.
