Best of 2002 coming soon.

In the meantime, this is a pretty good list (scroll down to Nathan Rabin):

Order it now from Sandbox and get the 9th Wonder remix CD.

Almost every end of year lists I've read includes Blazing Arrow. Maybe I should listen to the whole thing.

And is anyone else thinking about checking out Cody Chesnutt after listening to "The Seed" on The Roots album?

I'm definitely thinking about listening to it. I may have to hit the internet and steal, er, share some of his songs. I do love the title though, "The Headphone Masterpiece"

I'm also looking forward to the Little Brother CD since it's been hyped so much by a certain person.

I LOVE the Seed 2.0! I'm absolutely addicted to it. But I've heard mixed, to poor reviews about Cody's album. I guess he recorded it in his bedroom by himself, so the sound quality is annoyingly poor, and many of the songs seem cut-off or unfinished.
But I haven't heard it yet. I'll probably try to DL tonight.

Looks like I need to run to the store and get me some blank CD's.

Also DC People!!!!! Common is at the 9:30 Club tonight. You all are bastards!

The Washington Post music critic said Eminem's latest release, The Eminem Show, is the best release of 2002, for all music genres. I have to agree.

I have to say they didn't listen to Blazing Arrow ;)

i guess SLUG is too underground for everyone.

Nope. Slug's got skills. But the whiny, self-deprecating thing wears on my nerves. I can understand though why people might like him...he's just not my cup of tea. And he needs to rhyme over better beats.

BTW, why are there two separate "official" hip hop threads? One's an imposter!

Sorry...this one is the imposter. I was looking for the other one post-crash, but couldn't find it.
