Cesc wants to get to legendary status at Highbury like Vieira.

I certainly hope he makes it!

I hope so too. His last couple of matches, however, have been less than stellar IMO. He's giving the ball away too easily at times.

Hey may end up as a legend one day, but he has a long road ahead of him. However, it is refreshing to hear his enthusiasm and devotion to his perfomance and the club!

Another player that Wenger believed in and showed faith in and the club will reap the benefits! I love him! :D

Granted Cesc has a ways to go yet, but I'm excited to see that he has set such lofty goals for himself, that can only mean good things for the club.

That was my reaction when I saw that. So great to hear a young player who wants to be in the pantheon of great players for a team rather than thinking how soon he can make a name for himself and sell his skills to the higgest bidder.

hes barely 18 and playing first team football and succeeding, as well as all the other youngsters, we can say this is a bad season but it actually shows where arsenal will be, top of league and top of europe once these players mature. exciting times.

I always forget he is so darned young! Man, that does make you think about what is to come.

It is absolutely astonishing that a kid that age (eight-friggin-teen!) has a sense of history, of legacy, and of the accomplishments of those that have come before him. And the humility he shows is rare indeed. I'm thrilled to have him in our side..another diamond in the rough found (on the cheap..yet again) by Arsene and his scouts. Sure, now and again he has a rough game and :gasp: he may even cost us a game or two this year. But I'd rather build our team around hard-working kids with a long-term commitment to the club than build around a bunch of mercenaries. Its a more sustainable approach and is sure to be Wenger's most lasting legacy.

well said! I havent seen much of Arsenal but I really would like Flamini to get more minutes, maybe against lower teams, Wenger should experiment on formations in carling cup. I actually wouldnt mind seeing what could be done in a 3-5-2 with cole pushed up in a defensive mid role.

Wenger should experiment on formations

Laws of the match by AW:

1. Formations don't change.
2. Unless there is an injury, first sub happens only after the 85th minute.

i meant in the carling cup where he doesnt care. we arent scoring goals so somethign needs to be done. but maybe formations dont matter.

Cesc has so much responsibilty this season that its scary.
Esp. when Gilberto goes out injured.

Cesc has so much poise and skill for such a youngster. But everyone has said this loads of times. I think he could become a goal scorer out of the midfield in the future. And I think he will get some goals this season. Its a little unfortunate that he is one of the bright spots of the team at 18, when other players have been around but are not performing this season.

Things will pick...I'm sure they will.
Come on Arsenal/

That's part of my worries. I hope he doesn't have the mindset that he has to fill Paddy's shoes, because that's just too much for a player who is still real young. He will be much better off trying to make his own niche at the club, as opposed to trying to be Paddy. Obviously he has a bit of a ways to go, but here's hopin he can one day have Paddy's status at the club.

The positive is that, as others have pointed out, Cesc obviously has an understanding of not only the history of Arsenal, but also the meaning of club stars to the supporters. The negative could be not only feeling that pressure, but putting it on himself as well. Its a lofty goal, but I'd much rather see a young player with that understanding than lacking it.
