Not to quibble, but...
Raul Morientes, Xabi Alonso, and Luis Garcia were all crucial to Liverpool’s Champions League run last season.
Not only is Morientes' first name Fernando, he was also not able to participate in the Champions League for Liverpool because he was Cup-tied.

I was wondering the same...I find this to be a bit sad though.
(He was originally expected to suit up in the Meadowlands this weekend against the MetroStars, however it looks like that debut will have to wait a week for a work permit and international clearance.)
Oh well guess we'll have to wait.

That, my friend, is a job way too big for me, or any 4 people for that matter. I'll just keep pointing out the funny/dirty ones :)

What does “La Bicicletta” mean?
It's the Italian word for bicycle. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

What does “La Bicicletta” mean?
The Bicycle. His leaving his feet all the time seems to have become his trademark, unfortunately. Maybe Nowak can put a broomstick in his spokes, toning his impulses down, before he gives away a PK, plays ole defense and/or kicks somebody in the head.

I've not seen him do it for a while now. I'm thinking Nowak has already told him to cool it with the bikes.

Just some comments on Walsh's article:
1) "However, in the salary-capped world of MLS, teams aren’t able to afford multiple players that are routinely up for FIFA World Player of the Year. Instead, they must find good deals, players that provide a better value for the buck."
TRUE.
2) "Now, for the third time in 13 months, United are bringing in an Argentine, a so-called “impact player"."
MOST PROBABLY NOT TRUE (I HOPE TO BE PROVED WRONG). LUCIO IS NOT THE "IMPACT PLAYER" KIND. HE IS A TECHNICALLY TALENTED PLAYER WITH GOOD VISION OF THE GAME AND A FEW GOALS PER SEASON IN HIS TRICK BAG. NO MORE (AND AT ANY RATE NO LESS) THAN THAT.
3) "Lucio Alejo Filomeno could be the third point to a new triangle, one that with time, could become magical."
PROBABLE. I WOULDN'T USE THE WORD "MAGICAL" BECAUSE THAT WOULD PLACE HIGH HOPES ON HIM AND ON HIS ASSOCIATION WITH GOMEZ AND MORENO. I WOULD SAY AN "INTERESTING TRIANGLE".
4) "Filomeno, who spent three years at Inter Milan as an understudy to Ronaldo, adds a finishing quality that none of the aforementioned playmakers possess."
NOT TRUE AND NOT TRUE. FILOMENO SPENT 1 YEAR AND A HALF IN ITALY (6 MONTHS IN UDINESE AND 1 YEAR IN INTER). AND ABOUT THE FINISHING QUALITY...WELL...I DON'T KNOW...HOW CAN A PLAYER WHO IS NOT A SCORER ADD FINISHING QUALITY TO A TEAM? UNLESS HE MEANT HELPING IN THE BUILD UP OR ASSISTANCES...
5) "Expect the linking-up between the three to begin quickly" (meaning Filomeno-Gomez-Moreno).
HIGHLY IMPROBABLE. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S GONNA HAPPEN THIS SEASON BECAUSE FILOMENO CAME TOO LATE AND BECAUSE OF ALL THE HINDRANCES (HE IS INJURED, DIDN'T GET THE CLEARANCE AND WORK VISA YET, ETC).
6) "As Moreno and Gomez have blended well together in just over a full season together, so too should Filomeno."
THIS MAKES A LOT MORE SENSE THAN PREVIOUS STATEMENTS IN THE ARTICLE. BUT THIS IS NOT "QUICKLY", THIS MEANS NEXT SEASON AT ANY RATE.
