I saw Chino alegrias Brother, play yesterday at the washington sportsplex. He was crazy good. But also kinda dirty. He kicked one of my friends and made him do a flip, and kicked another friend in the stomach. LOL Regardless of that, he was still friggin' good and it made me think, what happened to all the warthog players and such? Anyone have any back info on them?

He sure did, and he tore it up too from what I remember.
I wonder if my friend still has the cardboard player ID card he got signed by him way back when.

Mid nineties I was working at a local golf course as a second job. One day I caddied for a group and a member in this group was a Warthog. Don't know what his last name was but his first name was Richie (not the ABMOD). Nice guy, he couldn't play golf at all but he tipped pretty well after the round. I guess he was impressed someone knew who the Warthogs were, I don't know. That is my only Washington Warthogs experience. I guess they played at Capital Centre then?

Jim Gabarra is heading Washington Freedom SC (which is, I think, the only one of the eight original WUSA teams that still has any sort of presence out there).

Isn't Kristine Lilly still active with the USWNT?

I saw [Scorin'] Goran Hunjak coaching some indoor team on TV not too long ago. Maybe he was playing, but I think he was coaching, I was trying to explain who he was to my girlfriend.
Denison (The Menacin' (http://www.denisonsoccer.com/about.htm)) Cabral is playing for Baltimore still, I think. He has a soccer academy.
Tarik Walker plays for the Blast as well.
Dante is still kicking around trying to find work.
Kristine Lilly is still playing and I think coaching.
The first woman to score a point in a men's indoor league, Colette Cunningham, played for the Maryland "Pepsi" Pride years ago, when they had a double-header once with DCU - no idea where she is now.
Can't remember too many others........

Cunningham's last year with the Pride was, I think, 2002. She could still bring the heat!
I did a story for the Crusaders' newsletter, "By The Sword" on she and the three other "Soccer Moms" on the team. Yep, four moms on one W-League team.

richie! man, does that bring back memories from high school. i used to watch his antics all the time when he was the coach at National Cathedral, they were in the same league as my high school.
i think richie used to play for everton reserves before coming to the u.s., and i also thought he had/has some role in dc united's youth setup.

When I first moved to Chicago 2+ years ago, I saw a woman on the bus wearing a Warthogs hat.
