01. 12. Alex Ferguson (Manchester United)
That sounds about right.

01. Guus Hiddink (Russia)
02. Marcello Lippi (Italy)
03. Sergio Markarián (Cruz Azul)
04. Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)
05. Fabio Capello (England)
06. Carlos Bianchi (Inactive)
07. Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan)
08. Rafael Benítez (Liverpool)
09. Dick Advocaat (Zenit Saint Petersburg)
10. Luiz Felipe Scolari (Portugal)
11. Cesare Prandelli (Fiorentina)
12. Alex Ferguson (Manchester United)
13. Gérard Houllier (Inactive)
14. Walter Smith (Rangers)
15. Felix Magath (Wolfsburg)
16. Émerson Leao (Santos)
17. Miguel Ángel Brindisi (Atlas)
18. Gerardo Martino (Paraguay)
19. José Mourinho (Inter Milan)
20. Ottmar Hitzfeld (Bayern Münich)
That's just a list of numbers and managers names. Are we supposed to gather something from that??? Where's it come from?

Hitzfeld has won more I think having coached less seasons
No, he has not.
20 years.. And both times it was a robbery. Terrible.
Both times Man Utd was the best side in the competition. The CL is also not 20 years old and since its inception only two sides have won more titles than Ferguson and that is Real Madrid/AC Milan with one more a piece. No manager has won the CL more times than Ferguson and only one has won the EC/CL combined more and it is by one.

And Bayern pretty much handed United their ass.
Ancelotti three CL finals in five years. Alex two CL finals in 20 years. Enough said. Discussion over. Move along.

So if a team takes lots of poor shots from distance then they are somehow the better side? I don't think so Duck. Besides Man Utd won the CL and remained unbeaten during both campaigns. It certainly sounds to me like they were the best side (having also watched both campaigns I know it to be true regardless).
Again you try to incorrectly claim that the CL is 20 years old. If you cannot even get that right despite being told differently then why should anyone put any stock in anything else you post? If you want to change the parameters of the discussion to include general CL success, as opposed to actually winning it, then I could easily point you in the direction of the all-time CL table which has Ferguson's Man Utd sitting in first place.

Two finals in 20 years is crap. That's the bottom line. Juve had four finals in eight years. Valencia had two finals in two years and so did Ajax. Milan had three finals in five years and also a stretch of three in a row and another stretch of two straight wins. Real Madrid had three finals in five years. Man Utd has been crap and it's Fergusons fault. He hasn't gotten the best out of the players he's had. I'm not saying he's not a top 50 manager, though.

I voted for Guus Hiddink in the poll. Over the years, he's been able to do a lot, often without a lot of talent or money. I feel that South Korea in 2002, Australia in 2006 and Russia in qualifying for Euro 2008 have played far beyond expectations with Hiddink at the helm. Even his Holland sides, which are usually infamous for their squabbling and division, played well under Hiddink's leadership, only missing out on the semi-finals in Euro '96 and finals in WC98 on penalties.

HEY! Why only 20? Why not 30, 40, 50... why not a thousand years? Why not a million?
[Duck Manson] Alex Ferguson is crap coz he's only won the champions league twice since the end of the triassic period.[/Duck Manson]

I voted for Guus Hiddink in the poll. He was actually my second pick. Has done alot with very little. The exact opposite of Alex 'the pig' Ferguson.

I gathered that Peru was ranking them... although I think Advocaat was higher and Sir Alex lower than I would have rated them.

It's normal to provide at least an inkling of the criteria rather than just a list.

If it's "normal" you're looking for, then surely you've wandered onto the wrong discussion board!

Again with your factually incorrect rambling...
I see you have failed to comprehend numerous points that I made but I'm frankly not surprised considering you are still refusing to make a distinction between the EC/CL. I could start to discuss things like the European ban and the ridiculous foreigner rule that hampered English sides in Europe but there is little point considering the standard of your responses thus far. Your pathetic Alex 'the pig' Ferguson line sums it all up. Again, conveniently ignoring everything he did in Scotland, the state of Man Utd when he first arrived and the fact that rival Premiership clubs have outspent him in 13 out of 16 Premiership seasons. Just admit that you hate him and leave it at that.

If you asked everyone on this forum to make a list, they would all be different. "Best manager" is very hard to determine, and is all based on personal opinion. I think Leo Beenhakker and Otto Rehaggel should be on that list.

Two CL finals in 20 years isn't very good at all considering the players he's had. And yes I ignore what he did in Scotland. Just like I would ignore if Lippi had done something wonderful in the Swedish League. And you say other PL teams have outspent his team in 13 of 16 seasons, who has spent more overall in that time period?

1. How is he expected to win the CL when it didn't even exist?
2. Ferguson had European success with Aberdeen. Try educating yourself.
3. Chelsea by some distance.
