Domminic Kinnear
Rebuilt a team from scratch. No big names, no money, no support from ownership. Results? MLS Supporter's Shield! Only MLS team to go undefeated at home.

Mourinho has an owner that will buy almost any player in the world. With the players he has anyone of us can field a winning team remember its the horse not the jockey

Magath is seriously underated. He got a Stuttgart team from 15th in the Bundesliga in 2 seasons up to 2nd.He also made them qualify to the knockout stages where they were undeservably beaten by Chelsea.Since he came to Bayern he has won the Bundesliga+German Cup+Qtr Finals of CL.What more does he need to do to get some decent recognition?

Let us not forget that Mourinho didn't have any of this at Porto. It was amazing that he took them to the Uefa Cup title, it was miraculous that he then took them to the Champions League victory. And in this time he ofcourse won the Portugese league as well. And though Chelski may have all the money, if you look at their team last year, they aren't much better on paper than Manchester U., Arsenal or Liverpool. One does not realize the small difference in talent in these teams because Chelsea is so far ahead of everyone. But in my opinion, the reason they are is cause of Mourinho.

If best means winning then it has to be José. One only has to look at his track record. I understand why people might hate him, heck I'm not even sure if I like him but the man has managed to win with and without rich owner.

I think at the moment Mourinho is the best coach.
Others that are right there behind:
Rafa Benitez
Fabio Cappello
Frank Rijkaard
Gus Hiddink
Luis F. Scolari
A.Ferguson
G. Houllier
Bobby Robson
Javier Aguirre

Mourinho has won 1 CL and two domestic championships - Hiddink has won 1 CL and a number of domestic championships. Mourinho has never coached an international team - Hiddink has coached two and got both of them to the semis of a world cup. It's not that hard to decide whose record is more impressive esp when considering that Hiddink had squads of lesser quality at his disposal.

My favorite coach is Cesare Prandelli. Everywhere he
goes, his teams play attractive, skillful soccer, win games,
and cause all sorts of difficulties for bigger clubs (he has
never led the likes of Real, Milan, Juve, etc.).
I admire that greatly. Coaches like Capello, Mourinho,
Benitez, and Trappatoni, by contrast--Koaches, let's
call them--have won most of their trophies by preaching a
form of pragmatism where the chief aim of the team is to
wait for the opponent to err and to reduce the possibility
of any error/ risk-taking on one's own side. Smart, you
might call it, but it has a way of squeezing the life out of
players, limiting them, inhibiting their expressiveness. Give
me victory con stilo, and I applaud you. ;)

This isn't the best coach of all-time thread, it's about who is currently the best coach.
You're the idiot

if im not mistaken, real madrid has as many champions league/cup trophies as the whole of the UK. so i have no idea where you were trying to go with that one.
Maybe he's pointing out that many of these were won by players that were either bought with money or where 'El Presidente' forced other clubs to sell players to RM under threat of tax investigations... OR WORSE.

Hiddink:
--took holland to the semis in 1998 and they lost on penalties to Brazil
--took korea to the semis next time around in 2002
--PSV and ChampsLeague
--Australia is qualified to World Cup this time around
Mourinho coaches for a team with bottomless pockets.
