Ok I admit I forgot Sir Alex Ferguson!
But Ottmar hitzfeld isn't on your list, you are extremely incompetent!

In addition to the goalkeeper poll, let's also take this category apart. Best coach/manager/trainer or however you may call the guy who sets up the team :) Motivate your choice a bit as well please ;)
How the could forget ottmar hitzfeld on your poll?
You are extremely incompetent ignorant !

Lippi. Won many trophies with Juve in the 90s and early this decade and he is the reigning World Cup-winning coach. Now he has equalled Javier Clemente and Alfio Basile's record of going 31 consective international matches unbeaten.
Sir Alex couldn't do squat with Scotland at Mexico 86 despite his impressive club pedigree.

I like some of those off the beaten-track managers... journeymen who have a reputation for working wonders in some pretty unexpected places.... Guus Hiddink needs no introduction but some who maybe fit this list...
Bora Milutinović - wasn't so successful at club career but was nicknamed the miracle worker for taking Mexico, Costa Rica, USA and then Nigeria to the 2nd rounds of the WC consecutively. He also took China to their first ever world cup... that in itself a huge success. I don't think his legacy in CONCACAF quite gets the credit he deserves.
Bruno Metsu - took tiny Senegal to their first ever World cup and even more impressively, went all the way to the quarterfinals beating France and Sweden along the way. He regarded very highly in the Middle East. Took over Al-Ain club in the UAE and won the Asian Champions Leauge with them - something no other club from this country has achieved. He then won the Qatari league with Al-Ghafara, going the whole season unbeaten (a la Arsenal 2003/4). He then took over the UAE national team in complete shambles and had unprecedented success. With the team's reputation in perpetual decline, he led the UAE to their first ever Gulf Cup championship, beating regional powerhouse Saudi Arabia and perenial nemesis Oman in the semis and final respectively. Also took the UAE to the final round of the WC qualifiers in Asia.

what??? Lol :dHe has achieved most of his success after coaching Scotland in the 80s but he did pretty well with Aberdeen earlier in that decade. West Germany, Denmark and Uruguay were stronger sides but surely a man of Ferguson's calibre could have done something decent under Scotland.

Mind elaborating on that assumption?

Mind elaborating on that assumption? He has two Champions League trophies in 20 years while managing the worlds richest club, and has spent more money then anyone outside of maybe Inter and Real Madrid. Not to mention he's had Uniteds youth department who has given him free world class players in abundance. All in all, what he has achieved isn't impressive.

I think ferguson is the best coach actually.
But I respect your argument.
I just see it amazing for a guy to coach a team for such a long time and still be succesful, i mean, he won everyhting with manchester last year, its true that its the first time in a while they had the ucl championship but they usually fare pretty well in the champions league. In the domestic league they always finish top 3 if thye don't end up winning the whole damn thing. not counting Carling cups, etc., etc. He found ronaldo out of nowhere when everyone was all terrified that Becks had left to Madrid, brought over Vidic who as of right now is the no. 2 defender in the world behind his teammate Fredinand. he brings over great players, The guy is a genius in my eyes, but i respect your opinion Duck

You'd have to be a pretty pathetic manager to not finish top three with the teams he's had.
That he's lasted so long at one club is amazing though.

Yeah that's true. with the players he has and the kinda money that is made available for transfers/bonuses/so on/ and so on it is oretty much mandatory for them to get at least a 3rd place finish.

I'd have to go with Sir Alex. Jose Mourinho is also a great coach but I don't like his attitude.

More shite from the Duck. Pity your so-called explanation only served to further highlight your combined ignorance and idiocy.

This is ridiculous. The man has achieved a remarkable amount, won the Premier league 10 times, the FA cup 5 times, the Champions league twice and several other domestic cups, super cups and whatnot.
The point you choose to deride him for is the fact that with the teams he has had at his disposal, finishing in the top 3 is not much of an accomplishment. This ignores of course the crucial fact that he assembled those teams, so saying 'the teams he's had' is actually a compliment to him. Did this seriously not occur to you, or do you not take time to follow through on the logical conclusions of your own posts?

Any coach with half a brain could have done what Ferguson has done.

The money Man Utd have is not from billionaire investors, it was made by good housekeeping, Peter Kenyon is very smart financially, and the money Ferguson spent in at the beginning was minimal, take a look at how much he bought people like Roy Keane, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, Peter Schmeichel and even Eric Cantona, make a subtotal then engage brain.
