Like Aussie Guus...he's done wonders with ordinary squads and some good squads. To achieve what he did with Sth Korea and Australia was amazing and he'll will probably keep doing it after he moves on from Russia.
My point exactly.

Australia had good players and South Korea had months of preperation that their rivals did not get and then got countless dodgy decisions throughout the tournament. He did well but let's not make him out to be better than he is.

We had probably 9 good players, 4 average players and absolutely no bench. Even Guus honestly admitted it himself. He said that he couldnt trust many of the players to do a job if they had to replace a starter.

What did he do that so amazing with Australia? He lost to a team that played half the match with 10 men.

Which is the same team which later won the World Cup. I am not saying that he is a savior, but his teams do better than they should because he is a good coach, in my opinion. If it is because his teams are fit, then that is also good coaching.

We didn't win the World Cup with 10 men :p
Fitness is only one part of coaching but in terms of man management and tactics i don't think he is brilliant.

Yes but even with 10 we are still a great team. ;) All I am saying is that Hiddink deserves credit for results, whether it is due to fitness, tactics or whatever. The same is true for any coach who gets his team to achieve more than they are expected to.

Firstly he actually got us to a World Cup...only our second appearance.
He also got us past the group stage, despite having Kalamity Kalac as a GK for our final match vs Croatia.
Playing against an Italian side who had a minimum 8 men behind the ball at all times isnt easy to break down, especially for a team of the quality of Australia. Kewell was also injured for that match vs Italy and Brett Emerton was sent off vs Croatia and also missed the match. That meant no quality on either flank.

mourinho deserves respect for the achievements he's had but overall i think his coaching style is detrimental to the team. From how ive seen him deal with players, it is almost like they are constantly seeking his approval. He frequently plays favorites and disrupts team morale by picking his 'untouchables' and all that garbage. Specifically, i remember after robben returned from a decent 2006 world cup and mourinho didnt start him even when healthy eventhough he was the deciding factor most games when he finally went in. And throughout the season it was obvious anytime a player did something good they would look back at mourinho to almost prove that they're worthy (moreso than with other coaches). This style reminds me of high school coaching and is not the best approach imo. Now, i could be way off but that has just been my perception in watching his coaching style. ok, rant over.

any coach to lift the world cup, continental cups, club trophies domestic or continental is best of the best.
to win all 4, half of the above, 2 cups like WC, euro or equivalent plus another cup, is the best coach
like Franz Beckenbauer, won everthing on every level of football
