I agree totally. I have been in Europe for the last 4 years and now since I came back, I find myself using empty highways and no more traffic jams with no one around! ...
Hey, I want to drive in the freeway you're using!!! My drive 101-92-880 is always a parking lot...

Neither the Wiz nor the Quaks are selling season tickets for 2006.

Relocation or contraction is coming, whether you like it or not.

That is a ridiculous comment. They are withholding the sale of season tickets until their is announcement about the team's future. That does not automatically mean they are being relocated. Who is going to buy season tickets if they are unsure if the team is going to be there? Not many, so why would they waste the capital and resources to advertise and sell tickets if no one is going to buy them?

I could be wrong but I believe that up until this season, KC has lead SJ in attendance. The reason the attendance lacked in KC this season is because the cheap ass Hunt family refused to advertise or market the team whatsoever. Their was little to no ads anywhere this season for the Wizards so only the real committed fans knew when the games were.

I noticed a comment about the atmosphere at Arrowhead. You are correct it is dull. But it is also the Chiefs stadium made for football and football only. If you have been following the sale of the Wizards you would know that if they stay a SSS is being built for them which would eliminate what you called a dull atmosphere.

Kansas City has one of the biggest youth soccer markets in the entire country. The place where the stadium is being proposed is near Johnson County, KS which is one of the richest counties in the entire country and is full of families where the kids play soccer. With the right ownership and SSS the Wizards have a huge future in Kansas City.

But I dont think either team should be relocated. Both teams have a great history with many winning seasons and trophies in their case. It would be a shame for either of these teams to move.

I almost spewed out my soda....KANSAS is one of the richest in the country!! I MUST laugh. Sorry, my ancestors move to Kansas and then got the heck out.

The median income for Jackson County Kansas household in the county is $40988

vs.

The median income for a household in Santa Clara County is $69,466, and the median income for a family is $77,189.

Wrong. Really wrong. If you would have paid attention to the post, it's Johnson County, Kansas, a suburb immediately to the West of Kansas City. And it is quite affluent. Median household income is $71,600, compared with a national average of $47,723. Johnson County's cost of living index of 94.9 / 100 makes your money go a long way.

The Kansas City metro area has a median household income of $54,633, compared to the San Jose metro area's median household income of $41,365. Only Washington D.C. has a higher median household income than KC. Make your "ancestors" proud and check out the feasibility study for more details.

In looking at Kinnear's Q&A conversation on MLSnet.com one would think there would be a next year.

Whos Ralph Sampson?

Come on?! Ralph Sampson 7 ft tall center for the Houston Rockets in the 1980's, played college ball at UVA. I remember making a great shot against the LA Lakers in 86 I believe it was during the Western Conf Finals. HUGE soccer fan too. Okay, I made that last part up.

Are they really moving KC to Toronto? I mean where did we get that from? Is that what Garber said yesterday? I didn't watch the whole game...

Toronto will be an expansion team. If the Wizards aren't in Kansas City in 2007, they won't be in Toronto.

If you're gonna bring smack, get your facts right.

If the attendance is the status quo in KC next year, I can't see even the most ardent KC fans supporting the decision to keep them there.

I posted this on another thread in this forum and thought it would be appropriate to list it here also:
I just saw the start of the sports segment on KNTV chnl 11(NBC) in San Jose CA, when I noticed the Earthquakes current emblem & logo. I thought for a split second they were going to announce the Quakes situation and their relocation. It was a sort of a mixed blessing instead that they mentioned the fact that George Best had died and showed footage of his famous goal he scored at Spartan Stadium against his old club the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers on July 22, 1981. I thought my heart actually skipped a beat when I saw that logo becuase I thought they would announce the Quakes relocation & thought its a sad shame that team will be moving on the same day that the clubs' greatest player passes away. As it turned out they didn't talk about relocation just yet however, it was still sad to see Calum Milan Best (George's son who I think was from Santa Cruz)talk about his father. I still can't believe that goal he scored back then and still can't believe he is no longer with us!

Hold those horses. Or maybe more appropriately, get those horses ready?!?! :D

Lamar Hunt says he doesn't know what Don Garber is talking about, when he cofirms that KC has been saved for 1 more year.
